The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

He sent a pic of the broken piece, I really don't know what I am looking at though. I hope we can come up with a solution. I know there is a set of roof rails in the FS threads, not sure if that will work though. Is it wrong for me to feel like I am going to screwed over. He mentioned in a text that we could split the cost for another piece, sorry that is bulls***. Our deal was for us to trade parts not for me to foot the bill for the parts I need. Thanks Evan, but I am going to wait and see what he comes up with. I don't think the guy is shady but the deal has mr feeling like I have no options.

he should either pay for a roof rack for you or come to an agreed upon price for the parts you sent him and pay up

I'm looking at options right now. If it looks like it will be competititive I might give it a shot. There aren't enough Spec Z's yet to make it worth building one since it would severely stretch my budget. I can make changes to my car, run regionals in it and then run endurance races with a group I was talking to at NASA nationals. They have a bunch of Miatas that have a history of being competititve and I could just rent a few hours seat time from them. It would be a good chance to get in some premier races without building or maintaining an endurance car.

Bill,

Take a look at this thread. There's some info in here.

Does anyone have a P5 roof rack in their pocket? I made a trade deal with a member in Texas to get his roof rack in trade for my filler strips. I sent the strips to him and he installed them. Problem is when he was removing my roof rack I guess one of the parts broke due to the heat in Texas. So atm I am screwed.

That's some bs Larry! IMO he should a)give you the rack +$xx to buy the busted piece or pay you an agreed upon price for the filler strips that you can then use the money towards a rack.

Ivan won't be there but I can store them in the basement for him. Fabio (Kevin) is supposed to come out with his TDi as well.

Jess, don't huff paint.

Nice! I still think I have more tools in my car than some people carry in their trucks and trailers :)

Mondays suck

Anyone been to Pull-a-part Cleveland (Kirby Ave)?
Do they help you pull the motor (you unbolt and they fork lift it out)?

I haven't pulled a motor from there but they should have big A-frames with a chain to raise the motor out. Wes and I were going to pull some motor mounts for his car until we realized how big of a pain in the arse it is and baile don the idea.

What do you need a motor for?

The 6. Basically, I am running out of time and money to get the 6 where I want. Pull a part junkyard motor to get it on the road will cost me $220, and thats about all I have left to spend at this time.

******* crank is to tight with the new standard bearings, and I am having issues finding a shop that could service the crank (every one I talked to said their stones were to big for my crank) and that it would also run a few hundred to check clearances and true of the crank, before any grinding or polishing.

At this point, im saying **** it, dropping a junkyard motor in it so I can rest the 7 for a while. Then I can re-address the 6 motor in the spring and build it how I want it.

I wasn't invited. :'(

Ended up buying a new set of General some funky letter/number combo all seasons instead of getting winters. Main reason was price. Got a set of brand new stickers still on tires shipped for $300. Tirerack has them at $98 each plus shipping. Kinda like a buy 3 get the 4th free deal. The lowest price I could find local was $554 for everything. Plus if need be I can run them into the spring incase it takes a little longer to save up the the summer tires.
