I used to have tanabe gf's on my honda fit, but it seems they don't make em for the 2.. so i'm looking for similar setup.. i was leaning toward h&r, but im afraid the ride might be too rough for a dd, and the racing beat are not enough drop it seems... can someone post pics, post reviews, post comparisons? thanks.

You are right. Racing Beat is not a lowered look. I've just put them on and I totally love them from a DD fun standpoint, but the ride height is just not quite low enough for what I'd really like long term. Check out ngd298's post in the "pics of your demio" section. He's on Eibachs and I think that's how the car should have looked from the factory. It's pretty perfect without looking too aggressive/tuner-ish. I would have liked to go with the Eibachs myself, but I just couldn't find enough information about how well the play with the stock shocks before I had to switch off of the H&Rs.

The H&Rs are awesome looking - random people came up to me on a daily basis to ask me about the car when I had them on. Especially with 16s and the H&Rs, the car is pretty incredible looking, but it beat the hell out me since I live in an area with crappy roads and a lot of construction right now, and I scraped the front all the time. Inner Portland has a lot of curbs that are high, and sometimes I couldn't open my door with the H&R's :(. Just a bit too low.

The Eibach springs are a little less comfortable than stock and a little bouncy on really rough roads, but overall the ride isn't bad at all. Well worth it for the reduced wheel gap and the handling, which is much better. More responsive, firmer, and less roll. Installation was a breeze with the spring compressor I borrowed from Advance Auto Parts.

The bolt on type. Just make sure if you get any to get hub-centric ones, and go with a name brand. Mine were crappy eBay ones and if you didn't get them on absolutely perfectly they shook like crazy.

And a few threads down this page I found this.... http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showthread.php?123817245-Eibach-pro-kit-spring-rates
Spring rate info.

Thanks for the links.. I had seen all but one of those already.. just not too many pictures posted but gives me a decent idea. The eibachs are def lower than the racing beat. but now as low as the tanabe's i had. makes me kind of lean toward h&r's, but seems like they might bounce too much. that's what i'm trying to avoid.. that really bouncy jiddery ride. I'll do more research on the H&R's. But other than the not so aggressive drop, the eibachs look pretty good. These might also be better to please the wife.. we'll see.

Why not pick up a set of coilovers with adjustable damping? That way if you want to slam it, the ride quality won't suffer as bad as stock struts. I've had the tanabe gf210s on a couple car before and they were great. Wish they were available for the 2. It seems like for most people, the RBs aren't low enough and the H&Rs may be a little too low and/or bouncy for DD use and the Eibachs are a happy medium of the 3 most popular spring options.

I love my H&Rs. They definitely drop quite a bit and the ride is quite a bit stiffer than stock or Eibachs...

very nice! do you get that annoying bounce in them? do you ever bottom out? do you scrape the inner fenders? Thanks. these look closest to my pic of my fit i posted up there. Today i went over some speed bumps in the 2, not very fast, and i got some loud clunks.. made me think " i might as well be dropped"..

Ive got H&R's and ill answer what I know...bottoming out-no,fender rubbing-no...annoying bounce-yes.

I woudl say no bottoming, no rubbing for sure. I dotn have annoying 'bounce' per se, but I do need to be careful how hard i take speed humps and other big holes in the road. Some railway tracks tend to rocket my front end back up on the other side.

I'm also debating what to do regarding springs. I was going to go with H&R just because it seems most people on this forum have them. But I really don't feel like bouncing all over the place. Eibach seems to have the same drop but isn't as rough. But I think the best thing to do is see what corksport does. They seem close to production and if the set comes in at $600 like they say...well that's the way to go.

Like KC said: The Eibachs are 0.3 inches higher in the front and 0.1 higher in the back than the H&Rs (according to the specs). It has more of a flat look instead of the nose-lower-than-the-rear look of the H&Rs. AND another piece of info to consider when making your choice, the last I heard, the CS springs will be just a bit lower than the H&Rs. I'm guessing they may be optimizing the ride height for 15" wheels on the 2.

Wow, lower than the h&r? I was thinking of waiting for the CS set.. especially if they hit that price point. But I'm not sure if I can handle lower than H&R for a DD. If you compare the link I posted earlier of my Honda Fit on Tanabes.. the H&R is very comparable... I would go that route, but some reviewers have claimed the H&R has annoying bounce. The Tanabe had the H&R drop without the bounce. Maybe I'll work on everything else first.. intake/exhaust/ other stuff, and see if the CS setup comes out by then.
