New front brakes at 70k

Just finished new rotors and pads up front. Replaced originals. Really surprised they lasted this long. A trip to the smokies did them in. On our return the front right was grinding pretty bad. I did have about 1/3 of brake pad left but I do believe the rotor just became too out of spec.

I used napa premium rotors and their mid rang pads.

Ran about 240. Didn't realize how huge these rotors are!

That's great that they lasted so long for you. But the rotors on the CX-9 are actually incredibly undersized (in my opinion).
They are the same size (approximately) that my 1997 VW Passat VR6 had in front and back.

It makes me sad when I look at an Audi A8 and the rear rotors are bigger than the front ones in my CX-9.

Yep that's right but have you handled one if these? They are heavy.

They're bigger than my 2001 f150 super crew I had. Bigger than I remember anyway. Went through brakes on that like toilet paper.

Size as in diameter doesn't mean a lot though some. Most of the huge diameter rotors I notice only have a couple of inches of actual friction surface.
