hat1018's build thread

Larry, when you come up on the 21st, would you mind I try your P5 brakes out? I want to see how they feel before I buy them too.

I would mind if you didn't ask. You are more than welcome to try it out. I want to see what you think as well.

Have you grown annoyed with the single speed intermittent setting on your wipers yet, Larry? lol

If so, I picked up another MPV wiper switch at the junk yard yesterday. I was going to throw it up on the forums, but I always catch myself asking if Larry would like something before I sell it now. haha $10 if you do. :)

That is an awesome idea, what years MPV work?

I believe it's like, 2000 or 2001 to 2004 or something. Early 2000's Ford Escapes also have the same switch.

It's a very simple job. To get the steering column cover(s) off, look up at the bottom cover and you'll find 3 phillips screws. Take those out, and pry the upper apart from the bottom, like a clam shell, and they'll come off. Then it's just 2 phillips screws that hold the switch itself in....take 'em out, unplug the old switch, plug in the new switch, and do everything in reverse. :)

LOL That's awesome, I am a GM technician by trade so I know my way around a car very well but I have limited time working on Mazda's. I am happy to know it is very easy to work on most things thus far I am finding.

I'm sure I already asked but I can't find the answer... What year are your Mazda6 brakes from again?

Well shoot, so basically any Mazda6 brakes will bolt up? And here I was all worried. lulz. Thanks, buddy!

I believe they will all bolt up. It looks so much better with the larger rotors, not to mention the fact the problematic calipers are gone bye-bye.

if someone find another wiper switch and wants to sell it lmk i want to upgrade too :) pm me if so

Today, Evan, Josh, and I are installing a header (stock exhaust), and short shifter. Josh is also going to buff the headlights. If there is time I hope to get a look at why the passenger side of the rear bumper is sticking out a little farther than the drivers side.

Oh I almost forgot, last weekend I bought a set of 17x7+42 wheels (unknown brand) for 100 bucks off Craigslist that looked good in the pics but not so good when I test fitted 2 of them. I hope it looked bad because of the 215/50/17 tires that are mounted on them. Going to get a set of used 205/40's from Pablo to get through the summer. Most likely these wheels will be my winter set-up.
