I can fit 4 tires on it, just have to strap them down. The tires are fine so far, I'va taken a few hard corners and they haven't squealed, we'll see how they do on autox. Also, they're pretty quiet and comfortable, not as stiff as the blizzaks but still very responsive.
Always a good decision.
I told you that a while ago. It's a good way to learn what your car does being pushed toward its limits, even at lower speeds.
Stiff as the Blizzaks? Ever set of Blizzaks I've had have been soft and mushy with delayed response. Which do you have, the WS-50's or WS-60s?

Got a response from my buddy:
There are mainly two styles. In my case, I mounted the tires towards the car so I'd have sufficient tongue weight. If you go for the rear, just make sure to load enough in the front box. There are also two ways to mount the tires. I chose the route that allowed me room to grow:
If you mount it horizontally, you can only go so wide:
So, as it sits, I found PVC that fits the center. It's a nice tight fit. The PVC itself is around a metal pipe which is welded to a quarter inch plate which is bolted to the wood. Ideally, I'd also have a metal crossmember of some sort that it attaches to, but it's really just to keep it down. To keep the wheels down (I also face outside to outside when laying them on each other), I have a larger piece of PVC with a self tapping screw. It acts as a clamp. As another safety item, I run a tow strap across the whole thing.

I have the jack and tools on the box, so that should be plenty of weight. I'm not gonna use it yet so I don't mind for now, but we can talk about that later

autox today was a lot of fun, got 8 runs total
First run: 82.4
Last run: 77.6
tires didn't squeal much and felt pretty good, definitively a good idea to do this. Missed a few shifts but the biggest issue were the brakes, had to pump them still so I couldn't brake late, the other MSM did 75.6 on his best run so I don't feel too bad.

As long as you get progessivly faster, you're doing it right in my book! I am so ready for autocross here in a few weeks!

Got one of my goodies today, miataroadster short shifter. OH MY GOD... What a difference, shorter than the TWM on the 3 and I believe just as short if not shorter than the miata 5 speed tranny. This is the first thing i should have got for the car. Install was pretty easy and i found out why it was so sloppy before, some bolts were loose in the assembly. Tightened everything and feels great.

oh yeah, now I have to get used to how short it is. 3rd gear is not where it use to be, and the change from 4-5 and 5-6 is extremely short

I really liked how the regular NA 5 speed felt. If only all transmissions felt like that...

Got another of the goodies today, FM DP. Got it on the forums at a good price, brand new never installed. Install took a little under 2 hours, sound is a little better, and boost response it awesome. Had to dial the boost back a bit, it was holding 10 psi steady but went to 12 at the top end of the RPM (ran into a bike on the way back home...). Power delivery is smoother, so far I really like it.
