I am not pin pointing the state of our current economy on any one ADMINISTRATION. Because congress was there when all of this was going on also. BUT im telling you that as a Economics major, evidence shows that the great depression would have ended MUCH sooner if the government was not trying to spend us out of it. Now that is not some dude at a news paper that had intro to micro and macro in college saying that. Those are published articles from PHD professors that conducted research. So my problem with the current administration is how when running for office in 2008 they criticized Bush for spending too much money. saying it was unpatriotic and Bush was taking the credit card out in the name of our kids future from the bank of china to spend all this money. FACT: Bush spent 4 trillion in 8 years, Current administration has spend 6 trillion in less than 4. Government spending is not as efficient as private sector.

He is currantly taking credit for oil production being up. What he doesn't tell you it's on private land not federal. He has NO control over that. 1 offshore drilling permit all last year. He has all but shut down offshore drilling,but PAYS other countries to drill here so we can be there "best" customer. You need to get off this racist thing and pull your head out of the sand. Pay attention to what he actually does vs what he tells you. Take a good look at who his mentors were while growing up.

Even once they start drilling it would still be years before it got to pumps. And btw if it wasn't for Obama care my fianc wouldn't have insurance and wouldn't have the insulin she needs to live and a lot of other people are in the same position so don't say it didn't help anyone. The government can force you to buy insurance because we use their roads, but on health care I dont think they can force us to buy insurance. Also the price of healthcare has risen since the government passed the healthcare bill.
But I will fuss where it is due and when Bush let medicare cover all of these prescription drugs that were not covered before, that increased the budget they needed to operate greatly.

What's really screwing the government spending is all the people on welfare and food stamps and Medicaid. People that are on Medicaid/ Medicare get thousands of dollars worth of prescriptions a month. One thing Obama did was turn us into a food stamp nation if nobody is working in a family of a married couple with 3 kids they get $780 a month in food stamps while living in an income based housing which they get paid 60 bucks a month to live there. If one of them goes to college and get fasfa they can get 4-5k a semester for expenses on top of everything else.
That is what's draining the economy, why work when you can get paid to live in an apartment and eat better than I do. I'm not saying Obama is great by any means I'm saying he has done a better job than bush. I'd rather have Clinton getting his dick sucked doing a good job runing the country than bush or Obama or any of the candidates that are runing

Very Well stated. People i know who are on fasfa get a ton of money while they are going to school. They go to class for a couple weeks and drop and still get the cash. Like you said why work when you can get all you want from the government. I'm sorry but Obama is running us in the wrong direction, he is hurting the middle class Americans, killing the private industry, we don't have NASA anymore or at least for a while. I think the medicare he put in place will have its likes and dislikes all over the country but in the end we as a nation will go bankrupt. He is in MY MIND a SOCIALIST. QFT. My company, a serious Fortune 500 company, has moved from a co-pay to a deductible for health care...
However, gas prices are the blame of oil companies.. There is a news article that had a Saudi Arabian Minister explain that in all the past issues they bumped production to cover the losses. He has said on the record that any loss of production from the wars in Iraq, Afghanistan, and the the Iran issue has been covered. They have bumped production to anticipate the losses from said world events.
Sooo.... blame who you want, be angry and whoever, etc.....

My company may be right behind you Chris. In our open enrollment letter last year they stated that due to possible reforms to the healthcare industry they may be forced to drop the current PPO program (co-pay) for a High Deductible health care plan. I've done some research and it might not be so bad? What kills me is seeing the discounted amounts due to the negotiated contract price.
On topic....you gotta put some of the blame for the high oil prices on the speculators. IMO they have way too much say/power over cost. One thing that has always puzzled/pissed me off is how gas stations get away with filling their tanks at $X upon delivery and can then raise the price per gallon a few cents a day every day on that very same gas that is sitting in the tanks...seems like double dipping to me.

Seems like good business to me.
I don't know about you Jeff, but it kills me.... Anything I have to go see a doctor about is out of pocket. It has been for a year now. I will have to pay 1500 out of pocket (higher for families) until the company does a co-pay.
High Deductible plans suck for me since I am 100% totally healthy and have no issues......
