Rising gas prices

i heard somewhere the new evo is supposed to be fully electric or possibly a hybrid i don't remember...

... should be interesting.

i personally believe the technology is already there, just a matter of releasing it to the public. (kinda like gorilla glass has been around since the 80s and it's JUST being used now for the touch screen s***)

Yeah but the problem with electric cars is that the electric still comes from coal. So it doesn't change anything, you still have to pay for the electric. I haven't done this research so I cant be positive, but I would say that if you took a KIA that got 35mpg and cost less than 15,000 dollars vs an electric car and the cost of electricity and gas (On board generators) that the cheapest alternative is still a gasoline powered vehicle.

That doesnt even take into the effect of the environmental problems associated with producing and recycling battery.

I hate hybrids... the Chevy Volt is a complete POS that only the stupidest of people would buy. It only goes 40 miles on the electric motor... then the gas motor kicks in which only manages to get 35-40 at that point... and IT TAKES PREMIUM FUEL! (doh) People will buy it though... because it saves gas.

I guess paying for electricity which is produced by burning coal makes them feel like better environmentalists?

******* hippie tree hugging libtard fawkers.(jerkit)

As of right now, the only realistic hybrid I would consider buying would be an Accord or Civic hybrid... and lose the dumbass looking wheels, MPG be damned. Reason why? They're pretty damn reliable, they look like a normal car otherwise, and they're reasonably priced when used.

rising gas??? WTF are you talking about??? i filled up at 3.40USD/gal last week and gas is only at 3.84 thats just normal... next week it will only be 4 or 5 dollars a gallon then next year 50 dollars a gallon

the first thing they need to do is stop making the electric/hybrid cars looking different than the others. saw one concept that kinda looked like a lotus... i thought was pretty nice looking for a 45+ MPG vehicle

Seriously though, do a youtube search of some of the hydrogen powered stuff. You'll be amazed

Gas prices make me glad I sold my Buick that was getting 7mpg. Am I the only one that laughs when I see a big ass truck getting gas? Why buy a new car that gets 35mpg? I paid 400 for my Honda and I get 38 mpg runing 80 with a bad o2 sensor

And for the people that say drill domesticly even if they do itl still be a few years before that gets to the gas pumps

And the coal burning people have you never heard of hydro electric or solar power? Most people that can afford a brand new hybrid should be able to afford a small solar panel that would be more than enough to charge the battery

Man, Solar panels are not worth the money. For a system that is large enough for a house I read an article on the internet and this guy installed systems for a living and he said it takes 20 years to get a payout on a solar system.... That is a terrible investment.

You can get a small solar panel installed for like 5k if you have an electric car then after gas it will probly pay for its self before you pay the car off

Gas prices are pretty annoying. It really doesn't make any sense. Prices are supposed to rise and fall according to the amount of money that people have. Well every year, employees earn a little less compared to how much they did the year before with the slightly lower prices. Contracts take away benefits without making these changes apparent. If you're working for a huge company like Kroger or walmart, one of these companies that makes so much money it's not even funny, you should be making more money too. You shouldn't be getting a sad excuse on why you can't keep the same benefits as the year before, but at the same time there saying: "make sure you buy our stock, we made record profit this year!" You look at them like "WTF!! Buy your fickin' stock with what!! You don't pay us s***!" People make respectively less and less every year compared to the people who make more. Sure minimum wage is up, but it's not worth anything. Since companies are being treated as people, they hold the majority of the money here in the Glorious country that is the USA. Since these "people" have so much money, the prices won't go lower. Gas prices (well all prices really) should be priced based solely On the 99%. And all the other s*** thats made in china for $0.02 should be sold in america for like $0.04. That would still be a profit of double what they're into it. Companies need to be honest and the money needs to go back to the people and government. suvs are the other problem. I hate SUVs. :end rant:

It's been over $1.50 a litre for regular unleaded in Australia this week for the first time in 3 years
I only use premium unleaded in my car so that's higher still

Obama is spewing his crap about how we have produced more oil here under his admin. Lies....lies ....lies. Yes we have......on privately owned land. Not federal. He has slowed oil production under his watch. Only 1 permit last year for offshore drilling. Again he takes credit for something he has nothing to do with. This man lies all the time while sending his family on vacation(on our dollar)all the time. His girls just got back from Mexico for spring break and now it's off to Vegas.

Would you rather Busch be back in office? Or worse one of the idiotic candidates we have? I wish Hillary would run again

Are you freaking serious? The ignorance the media put into people's heads. I'm not even into politics but at least I know what's going on. Explain how Obama ****** everything up when it was already like that when he went into office?

He isnt saying that he '****** everything up'. He is pointing out that his solutions have not made headway in the past four years, and he often spins situations where he had little influence to appear as if the gains or benefits where his doing. I dont think anyone is so right as to believe our current economic state is Obamas fault.

In all honesty, it is no presidents fault. They dont have control over it. To think any president could control the economy, abortion, gay marriage, religion, etc is foolish. We have been squabbling over abortion for 100 years. Show me one president who single handedly did anything about it. Yet every single election it is in the top ten main talking points.

Campaigning is seeing what the hot buttons are for the majority, then coaxing the side you believe will win you the election.
