Great news on the house.

Looks good Luke. I guess the FJ rims never worked out??

Oh and Happy Hump Day.

swapping out the rides today, sad...i put 15K on the miata in 7 months...went to GA and back and out to OH too...58K on her now. i've put 31k on in 16 months!

Afternoon...

Cool info about LRP Mahk and sorry Bruce....had a brain fart when it came to you painting the winter wheels. I'll be checking in from home later to check out Lukes new footwear. :) I'll actually be home before the sun sets tonight as I follow up the with the ortho this afternoon. :D

Taking the car in tomorrow for some work.
* Mounting new snow tires
* Installing SPC ball joints (hopefully)**
* 4 wheel alignment
* Oil Change
* Diagnose the early morning clunk

** The service rep said he had to look at the ball joints before deciding whether they can install them. They don't like to do aftermarket parts and he's never seen them before.

For those who have not seen/heard the latest Mazda news. http://www.autoblog.com/2011/11/16/mazda-ceo-charts-how-to-reach-2-percent-of-world-market-rotary/

"So long as I remain involved with this company, and I have been here 44 years and have no current retirement schedule, there will be a rotary engine offering or multiple offerings in the lineup."

"Over the next five years, too, Mazda will bring six totally new SkyActiv models to market, with most or all to arrive in North America in one form or another. This process starts today with the CX-5, and it is practically confirmed here today that the stunning 2010 Shinari concept will reach the street by 2013 as part of this SkyActiv push."

Dang Mahk! That's a lot of driving, but I'm sure it was all fun. ;)
oh ya!!! i'm already missing her and it's day one of another 4-5 months before i get back in the msm...

awesome news! still don't understand the "skyactive" deal?

Skyactiv cars are higher compression engines, and the chassis' are actually lighter than the regular model.

So finally picked up a Cobb AP, thinking about doing some baseline logs and then flashing a Stage 1 map to it and doing some more logs. Probably won't flash stage 2 until I upgrade the fueling as peace of mind. If I pull s*** dyno numbers again at one of the Grand-Am events... *grumble grumble*

Side note... got ticketed on my way in to work this morning. =o/ I was speeding, no intention to fight it especially as he let me off a little easy, could have been worse. 3 years til a clean driving record countdown starts tomorrow.

All y'all!

I've been so busy, new job is crazy busy... startup intensity. Strange experience to not be using Windows at all anymore. We deploy on Linux servers and develop on Macs. So I got a nice bash shell at my disposal at all times! Well, I'm still rocking a Microsoft Natural Keyboard, so I still have the MS logo in my sight every day.

BUT THE BEST NEWS! The P5 is back and not smelling like gas! Buddy mechanic replaced gasket between gas tank and fuel pump cover (as well as the fuel pump cover and the metal cover on top). He said there was a lot of rust on top of the gas tank (below the gasket), so that's what must've been leaking. 209,000 on the clock as of today.

Oh, and there's a slight brake leak somewhere on the P5... and the alignment is whack... but those are easier things (that don't involve flammable liquids).

Anyways, I decided to splurge on a set of Hakkapelliitta R's for the P5 (and have already done so for my Subie). I will need to find a cheap set of summer tires and rims for the car for the summer. If anyone has a set of P5 wheels/tires that are good for the summer, holla...

Great news about the P5 Oleg. It lives on!!!

Good news about my car as well. Tulley Mazda in Nashua was able to install the new ball joints after I emailed them the PDF someone created on the web. Apparently SPC only included a generic instruction sheet in the box which described placing washers in the wrong place for the Mazda6. So ball joints are in, new winter sneakers are on, and care is aligned and true.

They were also able to figure out the clunking sound. Took them all day. They heard it immediately this morning but the sound went away by the time they got it on the lift. This afternoon, when it cooled down they tried again and duplicated it on the lift. It is apparently being caused by a hydraulic engine mount that is leaking fluid. Once warmed up it operates fine. My extended warranty will cover the repair after I pay the $100 deductible. Forgot to ask what it would cost if I didn't have the warranty.

Edit: Did some research and the part alone could cost up to $130 not including labor. Looks like I just justified a good chunk of my warranty.

Congrats on the new job Oleg, didn't know you had moved jobwise. Glad to see the old girl is still running. Previous owner must have taken due care.

Nice work Chris with the 6. Do you notice an improvement??

Closed on the house, and was moving some stuff in already. Tomorrow is mega moving day. Thankfully we've already found two dining sets that we want to buy to fill the dining room and breakfast area. Yey craigslist!
