What have you done to your MSP today?

It was 101* here in SC yesterday ...I used to live in FL I know what its like. I must say, here in SC its not any cooler

car was broken into last night, nothing taken but screwed up the driver's side door handle. Really thinking about going back to stock and trading her in.

I hope she does. At least wait and drive her to the big cookout. Looks like it'll be Labor Day weekend. If there's anything I can do to help, let me know.

if she makes it...depends on body shop and now the car will die sometimes when i put her in nuetral when coasting up to a light. Had a bad backfire the other day at startup.

Damn I wish you lived a bit closer so we could work on it over the weekends and get her running all nice. I completely understand how you feel though.

Does anyone here run their damn AC??????? I NEED to be able to use it? Is that not going to happen with a FMIC?

running 2 12" fans on stock rad, stock wiring(one crimped to the rad wires and the other to the ac wires), stock position, both fans on pull with a FMIC. and currently staying in tallanasty. (the rad fan is actually hanging off a little on the side where the sidemount would go). no overheating what so ever. before that i had just the stock rad fan on half of the rad and still no overheating (the ac only worked on the highway tho just like u mentioned)

well the hood dampers are on, easy 10 minute install. Atleast something can go right.

I am also replacing my overflow tank with the weapon R one since my stocker leaks.

I was thinking that could have been the reason for the heat and boiling coolant, but that doesnt solve the AC issue...thats obviously a flow issue.
ya once you fix the coolant overflow tank it might be a little better, but either way, try draining your coolant and then flushing it with a bunch of water to get any junk that is sitting in there, no need for distilled water really, just flush it with the hose I would think should be fine, or just buy a few gallons of water at the store, after that go with a 70:30 coolant (I think that is the limit is says on the bottles) but if not then 60:40 with coolant to water ratio so it will increase the boiling temp. after that.. well besides not using the A/C, which at least for the last week, up north here has been the same temp as down there after checking the weather lol, been about 90-100 for the last week but anyways get the 2 12" slim fans, and wire them so they both come on at the same time, as I explained in the FMIC thread... if they had 13" fans I would have gotten those, because the 14" won't fit I'm pretty sure, but 12" fits great, and the stock fans won't fit either, MAYBE for the A/C fan, but it's not worth it, you'll just dig out a hole into either the hot pipe or the fan eventually.. for an extra $50 or so, you can buy the 2 12" fans, and then just sell the ones you have..

I don't use my A/C but especially with the new Mishimoto rad. and the 2 12" fans pulling at the same time.. it's still ice cold when I have it on.. like I said I've never used it so maybe you guys could benefit from a recharge and the bigger fans.. if anything just don't turn the A/C on full blast......(shrug) after you get some bigger fans and flush out the coolant...it's not like it needs to be 50* in your car, 70* in your car should feel like an ice box when it's 90-100* outside lol

Apparently everyone in Northeast U.S. does. LOL!

very true haha, we can just tolerate the heat, and enjoy the fresh air ;) (EDIT: I thought she meant that everyone in the northeast does not use the A/C and keeps the windows open.. but maybe I was wrong, either way, I don't use it)

oh and about your car dieing, was yours the one that didn't have the MAF sensor correctly relocated? or if you don't have it relocated, do that... might fix it if that is what is wrong,

I would try that, I just remember someone having a pic I think in the FMIC thread showing a relocated MAF that was AFTER the bov.. which is no good..but also if you have the HKS bov and it's not completely welded on there, but using the little C clip that comes with it, I found that once mine was trying to stall, it was because the little clip had somehow slipped out slightly, so I just had to push it out, and I couldn't see it on the boost gauge because it was only in boost, but just check random areas also to see if there is a leak anywhere..

could also just for kicks check the spark plugs, if you have colder plugs, I'd gap them to the .028 or whatever it is, rather than the higher .030, it helped with mine having it gaped a little closer, or just seafoam it too, I just do it once a year to keep the build up at a minimum, I just do 1/2 in through the PVC and 1/2 in through the gas tank, I might do part of it in the oil this year just because I haven't done it in 2 years and it couldn't hurt before I do an oil change.. just try the little things first, usually it's something simple that is just hard to figure out until you have had experience with it

I have a greddy bov, my set up is FMIC-BOV-MAF-INTAKE on the cold side

I'll check the plugs and go from there
