you're defending your (rather weak) statement based on the a technicality of the MSP being a limited production car? you're gettin real thin on the argument you're posing now. Your generalization applies to all cars, so I don't see how specifying a limited production car by a minor player in the market changes the picture.

I just don't see how making a "special edition" version justifies LOWERING expectations under any circumstances.

There will always be a weak link in any build. That doesn't mean I shouldn't build it. Why did you guys build your P5's and MSP's if you knew there were weak parts? If you're just gonna b**** about parts being weak then stay stock and baby it. Like Ivan said "gotta pay to play".

I'm tired of all the negativity around here lately (not that this post is helping). If you don't like someones build or car then just shut up about it. Like Thumper said "If you don't got nuthin nice to say, don't say nothin at all.".

Yeah, the MSP has given up the ghost a couple of times, but it is a shared car, driven by two people. The main thing is do what you want to do and enjoy what you drive. Life is too ******* short to sit an worry about dumb s***! Like we used to say back in the day, "**** the dumb s***"!!!!! that is one of the reason I really don't do a "build thread per se, as I do the things that satisfy my tastes and needs. I don't spend my hard earned money just to spend it. I talk with people who are like minded and who's opinions I respect, along with the knowledge that they've acquired. With that said, I am out......now back to our scheduled programming!!!!

I was referring to the fact that I wasn't talking about Mazdas, let alone MSP's in my original post. The first sentence states that "for the most part" components are made to handle the power the car outputs stock. The "for the most part" was put there to exclude things that break such as the turbo or engine on some MS6's or MS3's back when. Even then, a recall is issued 80% of the time and is fixed under warranty. I purposely refrained from saying that car makers make components that work perfectly forever under stock conditions. The MSP had an MSRP of $20k. What the hell do you expect for $20k? A Ferrari?

Wow, 2 days since a post! :O

Anyways, In the new year I plan on going to a wider rim/tyre combo - staying 18" but going up to 8" wide as apposed to my 18x7.5 +50 MS3 rims.

Now, I dont plan on tracking the car, and im not one to be stanced/slammed, so, what offset should I be looking for to stay within the guards, and also tyre sizes??

rx8's fit great, and they are 18x8 +50. just get some 215/35-18's and you'll be golden.
