What have you done to your MS3 today?

Received my first mods yesterday in the mail and installed them. JBR Heavy Shift Knob, RPMStore Vent Pod, and Aeroforce Interceptor Gauge. The knob is purely amazing. The gauge also blows me away. The simplicity and the variety of readings is phenomenal.

they are both respectable... can't go too wrong here. just depends on the brand/color you want to rep and how patient you are! i have the cobb and have been completely satisfied.

I sure like the SURE. Especially white, in my black engine bay of my white car. I think it'd look sweet. I'm going on vaca next week so I wouldn't be able to install it until like the last week in July, but the COBB I could have installed next week before vaca... COBB is more repected (so far) in the tuning world, but SURE is just starting out. They both look well made, but the SURE looks more polished I guess?

I'll probably go with the SURE.

white silicone + engine bay = PITA to keep white

sure is coming out with a long version (sri+tip as 1 piece)

id wait for that if you wanna go sure

that being said i have lots of cobb stuff on my car and i love it

I keep my engine bay really clean. I usually give it a wipedown every third wash, but seriously there's no like oil flying around in there, just dust and stuff. IDK...I could see how it would be a pain.
I'm not interested in a TIP, just a SRI.

So you would go with the COBB?

im biased but an sri is a sri. only so many ways to make one

i would look at the actual MAF housing. the cobb has a curved entrance promoting smoother airflow into the intake, ive never seen the sure one

Took her for a cruise today with a bunch of friends. She had been sitting in the garage after being cleaned last week.

Also signed up for my last two auto crosses of the summer before school starts in the fall and my car goes into storage :( One is a Divisional in Topeka at Heartland Park (previous National Championship site) and one in Lincoln, NE on the current national championship site. I have to go out with a bang!

^ you store you car for the winter? i don't think i could go that long with out driving my hot rod...

Well, I ordered the SURE Aeros in white. It just looks more polished than the COBB.
CAN'T wait!

EDIT: Change of plans, a guy on MSF sold me his used COBB for $115 shipped so I took that deal instead. Ships tomorrow. Canceling my SURE order. Too good to pass up.

I did my scheduled maintenance(oil change/lube/filter) at the dealer today. It was confirmed, that the rattling noise that occurs when the A/C is a bad belt tensioner(covered by warranty). My 3/36 runs out next month. Time sure flies.

How exactly do you know when your warranty is up? I keep getting these extended warranty advertising things in the mail stating my 3/36 is up last month but I have a 2009...

Ah so if I look at the old paperwork the day the original owner bought the car is the first day of the 3/36.
Good to know.
Thanks.

oh, yes. didn't realize you were the second owner. warranty starts the day the car was purchased new from the dealer. i know third party warranties have to be transferred to the new owner when you sell the car, not sure if the factory warranty just follows the car regardless of owner. was the warranty transferred to your name?

Interesting. I just looked back in my Facebook pictures and it seems I bought the car on June 16th of last year. The date all these extended warranty advertisements I'm getting is June 16th of this year for my warranty to expire. Hmmm.

IDK if you have to have it transfered, I'm fairly certain it's automatic. Or maybe it was one of the 10,000 different papers I signed when I bought her...

I put in fresh coolant, which is the messiest nastiest job to do. I was covered in that poison! Also it only took 1 gallon of coolant. I thought this car took about 9 quarts which is 2.25 gallons? I may have screwed up somewhere.

I put on the shifter bushings, which was a very easy job, and it really increased the precision of my shifts.

Finally, I put on my new TRZ Poly RMM. It does what it advertises to do. Shifts are great and I have not missed third gear at all. Also my god it has really allowed the car to apply its power! Exiting a corner it spun the tires in 3rd, mind you the surface was a bit wet. I am not sure about the vibrations though, its very rumbly which I am not a huge fan of. We will see, I will give it a fair shake and see how it breaks in.

Removed the MazdaSpeed3 emblem on the back due to the paint wearing off. Looks cleaner in my opinion!
