The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

Thanks for the input everyone! This squeaking/squealing is getting annoying! I find my self downshifting alot to stop so I can apply as little brake pressure as possible. LOL

Sucks, cause there's plenty of life left in the pads, they must just be of a lower quality to be making this much noise?

I ran into this on my wife's Hyundai. it ended up being the brake hardware was broke in half and was causing all kinds of noise. It isn't really needed on her car so I just pulled it off and left the one on the other side.

Hmm, I'm the opposite. Brake pads are the easiest part to replace of anything I'm going to put load on to slow the car.

ok if i were tracking/autocrossing im gonna brake before worrying about downshifting, but for daily driving id rather rev match as i down shift and use the gears to do most of the slowing down then only use the brakes once im under 40 and only partial pressure

i had a 92 accord that lasted 252k on the original motor, trans and clutch and the only previous owner before me swore to rev matching as downshifting...
so to me that just proves if you know how to rev match while downshifting it aint gonna hurt the car...

I love rev matching, plus I have to on the Miata, the synchros aren't so hot on 2nd and 3rd..

Someone talk me into keeping the 626. The more I drive the Miata, the more I realize that all cars should be like that.

You'll need something for the winter

No you don't you just need a hard top and snow tires a LSD would also help if your car doesn't have one. been there done that!
Sell the 626 and buy the hard top, snows and wheels.

So kind of random but does anyone know a place in central OH that can do an inspection for registration? I'll be buying a car from Virginia and will need to get it inspected before registering it. It has to be a new car dealership. Can anyone help a brotha out?

Just got done running 4 miles and working out. Off to wash the MSP on this beautiful day and follow it up with a long island ice tea by the pool.

that was good food Pablo! thanks for the suggestion and it was nice to see you! too bad my kids weren't behaving the best :) i'll be taking sean there, soon!!

Did someone tell you it HAD to be a new car dealership? My p5 came from Nashville, and I needed the out of state inspection as well before I could get the new title. Title office told me most new car dealers do it, but the DMV does it as well. There was a DMV across the hall from the title office...stopped there 1st, lady came out and checked my VIN, then signed a form. Took the form across the hall to the title office, paid my taxes, and got my title.

I forgot to mention, my two vehicle combo would be Miata for DD and 4x4 truck for hauling things, people, winter, etc. My two best friends are anti-626 so I'm getting pretty irritated at them.

No problem, I was there for like another hour and waited for the deep fried stuff :) which is why you missed this

Wish i could've joined you guys but i got called into work at 11 for some extra hours. I'm gonna have to go there and try it out.

If anyone would like to come over sometime and help me with the KL V6 swap wiring I would greatly appreciate it.

I've got the motor in and all the components all hooked up. But I'm not getting spark. I miss driving my P5... :(
