How To: Ebay FMIC

so if i buy the ebay universal kit with the U bend pipes and couplers, all i would need after that is the 2'' to 2.5'' reducer for the turbo which i already have ..how many 90* and 45* couplers would i need to run the pipes thru the smic location and the left radiator section? this is my last question and then i guess im good to go lol

yeah sounds right, I need a 2" to 2.5" as well for my kit for the turbo. not sure on how many diff. angle couplers yu will need. I got my kit from someone on here and it was from CxRacing. Was a bit more than en ebay kit but it can with diff angle bends for the couplers

well thanks for your help protegebuddy..would anyone know how many 45* and 90* couplers i would require to run my pipes thru the radiator sides?

So I found 2 Intercooler piping kits. One comes with the straight pipe and the other kit comes with a 75 degree pipe. Which one would I benefit from the most between the 2?I want to run the pipes thru the sides of the radiator.would I require 90 0r 45 degree couplers to run it the way that I want and if so,how many of them do I need? Please help me out so I can order my fmic setup already....

you'll need at least 2 90* couplers for the ends of the IC to run it that way, after that, it kinda all depends on how you do it. hot side you should be able to do with a 90* pipe, a 180 pipe, and 2 strait couplers, maybe one 45 coupler instead of a strait depending. cold side, depending on how you route the intake, could just be a 45 pipe and a strait pipe with a 90 coupler, or a 45 pipe, and a 90 pipe with strait couplers... honestly, your best bet is to pick up a whole bunch of s*** and start fitting it up.

Just be aware that that routing is going to cause you a LOT of headache in trimming and fitting, retrimming and refitting...

May sound like a stupid question, from what I've been reading, you don't need a turbo in order to do a fmic correct??

I can only find kits that have intercoolers with 2.25" inlet/outlets (hand)

That's the same problem that I am having. They have either a 2" or 2.25". There is a kit on eBay that comes with pipes and 2.5 fmic inlet/outlet. The only down size is that the pipes aren't as thick as the cxracing ones. Click the one with the black pipes. http://shop.ebay.com/i.html?_trkpar...c=1&_sop=15&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14.l1513&_pgn=3. I want to buy the cxracing pipes but with a 2.5" inlet/outlet fmic so I get the best bang for my money but I can't find just the intercooler by it's self.

oooh nice fine...Pipe thickness isnt going to be that big of a deal...

It's definitely a good deal tho. I might just buy that kit ^ and 2 90 degree couplers for the inlet/outlet to run my pipes thru the side of the radiator.u will also require a bov flange. I have a hks bov and I found a nice hks bov pipe for $25 shipped .

dont forget a 2.5 - 2" reducer for the turbo.

I have a friend who is going to weld my BOV flange on and I'll just respray that area with black paint.

BTW....for that kit...that seller also sells the FMIC but in the FMIC add it says 2.25" inlet/outlet sol I emailed them to clarify what the FMIC for this kit has.

I already have a reducer since my car has hard pipes already.

Same thing that I noticed.I tried to see if the other companies from eBay would send me a 2.5" instead of the 2"-2.25" but none of the other 2 stores ever got back to me.I would save money if I bought the cxracing kit with a separate budget fmic then buying that kit above^

I got confirmation from them. Inlets are in fact 2.5" for that kit.

Anybody have a 2.5-2" reducer they want to sell for cheaps?
