What have you done to your P5 today?

Handed the keys over to my sis-in-law...reluctanly. lol In exchange she left me the keys for her Pilot...new pads and rotors going on tomorrow.

Nice Josh...I saw earlier that you are going thru with the boosted P5 from TN. Wish ya luck and a safe trip!

Thanks! Can't wait to get it home! It sucks that I won't get to drive it for a few weeks though...:( lol

I have a feeling, because I'm so anxious to drive it and already a very impatient person, there will be a bunch of little things postponing it's maiden voyage. "Well, I think we're all set.....oh, wait a minute, we need one of these. Well dammit, where am I going to find one?? No p5 part outs on Craigslist, no yards have them. OK, here's someone selling one on the forum, now I have to wait a week and a half to get it. AHHHHHHH!!!!!!!" and repeat...knowing my luck...hahaha

lol...I hear ya. Well if you are ever in a bind for some OEM parts, visit onlinemazdaparts.com The contact there is Jason and he's very helpful and knows his stuff. And in my past experiences I get parts cheaper and faster than the dealer that is a couple of miles from my house!

I do understand.

That pic needs to be a motivational poster!

My friend got it and I decided to try it out. I took it off at the wendys drive though.... it was kind of embarrassing. lol That and in second gear it was almost touching my chest. HAHAHA

^ WD-40 or PB Blaster first, then a thick, long screwdriver. Get the screwdriver in and try to "expand" the rubber until it slides off.

They are a b**** but use plenty of lube and they will come off. Getting the new urethant ones on is an even bigger b****. Heh-heh.

If I owned a shop I would definetely have one of these handy tools for removing them.

^ ^ X2.

Lots of lube. I've yet to get one of those tools, but I need to. I just always forget everytime the tool guy(s) come around. lol My longest pry bar is my tool of choice at work.

Lots o WD40, and then plenty of muscle

Thanks guys about to go try this again. going to lift my car up a little more so now im not squeezed under there again haha

I used to have a Budweiser tap on my Mk2 GTI.... but that was back in 99? Something like that. Classic custom cars use them a lot.

yea, taps are pretty cool. But seriously, those long a shift knobs make shifting alot easier, theres even some 240's that tell everyone to stay away from them because they had problems breaking there gears from shifting wrong and just jamming the shifter in there lol more leverage=more force, but breaking gears is pretty crazy

The great thing about long shifters is that you don't need to move your hand far from the steering wheel. Awesome in a racing type environment.
