The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

how do you know when you have too many wheels\tires in your living room? do I need an intervention?

OH and I added 10WHP to my car today

the best part of the day was scaring the s*** out of Evan finishing up the brakes... ROTFL.... I'm sorry man but that s*** was funny

I would love to have that car and jump that hill. Would be crazy to see a line of cars jumping it all at the same time though. What track is that? After selling everything you have it might be easier to sell your soul to the devil. He'll make the tires super sticky for you then (laugh)

That wasn't, Pablo. - I had a bent bleeder valve on one of the rear brakes and brought a caliper along just in case it didn't come out. And it broke so I had to replace the caliper. Pablo loosened the bleeder on the other caliper and said "This one broke too..." and I thought of the $88 is going to cost me to replace. Of course, the bleeder was fine and Pablo was just messing with me. Again.

But we got the new rotors on, SS brake lines and flushed the fluid. It feels pretty good but I think the front rotors just need to get grippier and it will feel better. It's not really a night and day difference like a lot of cats say. But we'll see.

Yeah... you really won't notice a difference with SS lines. For the most part, for daily driving they're not worth the cash.

Pablo you need some 1/4" thick acrylic to put on top of the tire stacks for some auto theme tables. Evan can you cut that stuff in circles.....

There's a way to extract the bleeders, man, the caliper isn't ruined. The method I found was on the speedbleeder site, it's at the bottom of the page. Hopefully it can save you a few bucks instead of having to buy more calipers in the future.

Shouldn't be too hard, tack a piece of string (in the desired radius length) to the middle of the circle-to-be and run a router around it, and voila, a circle.

Pablo, I cna totally make you an acrylic tabletop if you want. Then the ladies will find your wheel wharehouse of an apartment more inviting. heh-heh.

Wes, I thought about drilling it out and re-tapping the caliper but I didn't want the chance of a leak. And P5 rear calipers are stupid with a 4mm allen bolt that retracts the piston and I noticed that one was stripped when I replaced my rear pads last fall so it needed to be replaced anyway. But thanks for the link, mate.

The Speedbleeders work great though. :)

Evan was that supposed to read, wheel whorehouse? BTW is $200 too low of an offer for speed3 springs and front sway bar?

Sounds like a fair price to me. Most Speed3 owners just want to get rid of stock parts.

LOL thanks but I moved some stuff around so I could clean and make a little room, if I got the table top then I'd be closer to some kind of house... I'd need some stools too. Besides, a couple of those piles will be going away as I use the tires but it might be a good idea once the first set is worn out, hmmmmm

I heard about one where a guy replaced the allen bolt with a regular protruding hex head, and said it made it way better. I guess that's how my rear calipers are designed, too, if I had them.

Yeah, I'm sure you can fab something up but brakes are something I don't really want to take a chance of messing them up or having them leak. Fabing something to go faster is okay, something to stop, not so much. heh-heh

Made it back from VIR safely and ticket free (somehow)! Driving on the track was soooooooo much fun!!! I love my car sooo much more now HAHA. Finally got to test out the new brakes and tires, puts a HUGE smile on my face lol. I have a few videos and pictures I'll post up tomorrow. I also found some side roads which were amazing. Come to think of it, every road in Virginia is awesome. Makes me hate the roads up here LOL. There were some sick cars.

I uploaded some pics and a few videos from VIR.

For some reason my phone decided to take extremely bad pictures unfortunately. Probably was from the phone's battery being almost dead.

I originally planned on recording in-car using Evan #1's phone mount. Before I did the Hyperdrive, I tested it out on some side roads. It wasn't secure enough and actually fell off while taking a hard corner lol. So I just had Evan #3 record from the side. Unfortunately, Evan #3 only took a few videos before my phone died. The first one is me passing a 300zx turbo. I think I hit about 115 on this straightaway before having to slow down for the climbing esses, which was probably the sweetest section!

Ya that track was soooo sweet! I hit 130 on the back straight. Even though it wasn't an actual race, I feel like I won LOL. I was the 3rd car at the start and passed about 10 cars. I didn't get passed either haha. I can't wait for mid-ohio!
