Yeah what's this about Mahk?? Pulled it from the housewarming so I wouldn't derail the thread...

sorry man...ya in the 60's today??? we won't see that number for at least 2 months

Yeah the housing market is super low right now...but only if you are considering the value you might have had 5-10 years ago. If you bought your house in the 70s, 80s, or early 90s...the value has still increased since the day you purchased it. If you are like me and bought a condo 5 years ago...you are basically screwed though.

According to this chart, there appears to be roughly a 10 year cycle and we are nearing the bottom of the market now. Prices will go back up, but it may take 5-10 years to do it.

yup, you may never find them this low again...so i built my house in 1990 for 225k...some wedding and college $ taken out of the equity, but i still hope to get about 150k after the sale. i do need to spend some money on the roof, siding and windows so i won't see all of that in the end. this should allow me to put a good down payment on a new condo in NC and have a small mortgage. if i work at this job for the next 2 yrs+- i can put an additional 30k into my 101k...

Afternoon NEPOC....effin snowing all day here. It's not sticking but it's still white and falling from the sky. lol

Yes, Chris buy now if you can! We sold our townhouse and bought our ranch just before the collapse. It worked out well as we made a nice profit on the townhouse but sunk a lot of that into the inflated price of the ranch.... At closing I saw the figures and the PO owed just under $80K...we paid $207K.... :(

And I was referring to the 8 with the 19 mpg... I think the highest I've gotten out of the truck is 17 mpg on all highway.

Wow! No idea Nissans got that bad gas mileage. I was able to get 18 mpg for a week last month when I had my Dad's double cab Tundra with the 5.7.
Sorry to hear that, hope your commute is not that far.

Bruce Congrates on the house! Keeping my fingers crossed for you the closing goes smoothly.

The market is definitely crazy. Luckly for me I bought my condo 4 years ago and would still be able to walk away with 15-20k in my pocket if I were to sell it now, which is more than I put down on it.

I don't think I can trust Bruce and Josh alone over the weekend. They might be too much to handle.
