RX-8 Seats

Anybody have these in their Protege/P5? Also, opinions on those as fronts and 2007 Mazda3 seats as rears? I can pick a pair up for around $150 local, and theres also a guy selling the rear seat in black out of an 07 Mazda3 for $150, so I'm definitely tempted.

Pics would be great for either type of seat!

I haven't heard of anybody doing RX-8 seats, but Speed3 seats do work, with a little fab work. If you are good with a grinder, drill, and can (or know someone who can) weld, anything is possible.

Just a heads up, you can get the RX8's in there, but they will not look nearly as good as a set of Speed3's will...they are a lot narrower and will (from what I measured) leave a fairly large size gap on the sides...

Dammit. Well I might take my passenger seat out to go look at them and put one in as a test fit. Such a good deal, I'll hate it if they don't look good

I'm not saying they will look bad, but they will not fill up the area as good as other options could...buy them and a Miata and throw them in there...

I did find a guy one town over with a totalled Speed3, but he wants $800 for the front+rears together. Not a bad price, just way out of my budget.

it would be really awesome if the seats fit the side airbag sensor plugs...then those of us with them could have a viable replacement seat option!

I had side airbags and didn't hook them up to the Speed3's...

+1. This is what has always kept me from pursuing better seats.
