MS3 Seats in an MS6

Yeah, yeah. I know that they are different brackets and different sizes, but has anybody done this on these forums? If so, how hard was it to install and do you have pics?

Not that I know of. Theres a member with a p5 that put speed3 seats in, but I don't know anyone that put in the speed3 seats in the MS6. I only knew one member who put in Takatas (spelling?) in his MS6.

I know it's possible as I remember seeing a vrm on eBay that had the cloth speed3 seats with the red embroidery.
I always liked the speed3 seats better.

They aren't garbage, per say. I just don't like how they feel when I auto x the old girl.

Yeah, I saw that when they transplanted the mzr engine into the Mazda5 to make the MS5. Now if only Mazda made that into a production vehicle, I would actually entertain the idea of a mini-van.

Regardless, I don't have the money to invest in this at the moment, and I would want to redo the red stitching to blue to match my theme - as gay as that might sound.

ditto. great for commuting, but when i track my car my knees hate my seats.
biggest problem for me, GT seats are too pricey of an item to simply remove from the trim imo, but i spose i dont track enough to make it a big issue.

sport tirm seats, no worries... curious if it would also requiring tricking the side airbags, or if they can directly plug in/replace?
At some point if you do move on this, keep us in the loop, would be great to know how much fab needs to be done.

I haven't done any serious tracking but I still think Mazda should have put in some better seats in the speed6 since its more of a "serious" car. Are there any big differences in the seats from a regular 6 and ours? In comfort wise?

I think that they are the same seats.

Good buddy of mine has an altima se-r... his seats are great, the hug you in but theyre not too tight that theyre un comfortable. two tone grey and black. If someone finds out how to swap the MS3 seats I'd like to read up on it.

Wrong! The seats are similar, but the MS6 has larger side bolsters and a thicker thigh pad that sticks out further than the base 6.

There is one on craigslist palm beach area for sale with pic's up that have speed3 seat shown in it for sale .u may be able to talk to owner about install ,& that is if it's the owner that put seats in ,is the one selling said vehicle .good luck .

mazda was probably intending our speed 6s to be driven by grandpas lol. The seats are like benches lol.

You can buy insurance legal seat brackets from wedge engineering in long beach ca.. it's not too much effort after that.. Not sure? But, I'd assume the airbags are compatible?

Also I dumped my Takata belt and made the jump to a schroth clubman3.. Cheaper and from what hear better tech than Takata? They look nice with the Recaros..
