This is purely a hypothesis, but... I have seen/heard that many people hook up their HIDs by simply plugging into the stock wiring harness (the 3 prong plug) and not running a dedicated harness w/ power & ground wires w/ a relay incorporated. I believe this could ultimately put a greater strain on the HID system and lead to a premature malfunction. I would be interested to see how many of the DDM kits that have not lasted very long, have been wired in this way.
Just a thought. I may be completely, 100% wrong, lol. As I know multiple people who have not run a dedicated harness with no ill results. I've had 2 DDM kits installed for around 6 months (each w/ their own harness), so we'll see if they last or not... (shrug)
would be a good hypothesis....except i have them hooked up with the prongs and not with the relay kit lol

Ya, I know many others that have had them wired this way for a while, as well. Probably no correlation, but who knows. Are you still on your original bulbs?
I have never run a harness on any of my DDM kits and my first one lasted me almost 2 years. I bought it from a shady vendor without a lifetime warranty, so when one of the ballasts went out, I upgraded to the 55W kit and that is what has gone out. Not sure what would change with the harness, since OEM headlight bulbs are 55W too...
