The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

Jeff, my P5 was lowered on S-Tech's with the Tokico HP struts and I had a number of swaybar/endlink combos:

Stock P5 endlinks/Stock P5 swaybar
AWR endlinks/Progress swaybar
Stock P5 endlinks/Progress swaybar

I didn't have a problem fitting any of them although the AWR endlinks were noisy and I actually bent them slightly. I ran the last setup for over a year w/o any problems.

My only concern with using stock P5 endlinks is having the bar flip.......http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showthread.php?123679139-Flip-flop-rear-sway-bar

Are the stock p5 endlinks longer than MSP endlinks?

So aftermarket bar and stock bar, what do you consider the racingbeat bar to be?

Nope....MSP are longer and in my scenario the RB would be aftermarket.

My P5 might be up for sale in a few months depending on how fast the part out gets done :D

i wish...i don't have the money for one at the moment...at tax time last spring, i almost got one, but it was water damaged and we were concerned about it being too bad to fix...and the guy wouldn't come down enough in price...

i was going to name him "Oliver"...a tribute to one of my fave Top Gear episodes

"oliver!!!"

Haha selling the car is not a certainty. If the part out goes well and I find a buyer for the car for the price I want, I'll be going with a 1st gen Speed3.

i like the floor plan drainage tool...a shotgun

what would the price be? how many miles?

After looking at KBB and craigslist listings across the country, I think i'm gonna shoot for 4500. The motor is still in great condition. 118k and will have prolly 125k when it's up for sale. Has a couple nice things like remote start and the tint plus the head unit and pioneer speakers. Nothing extravagant, but it's a nice car.

The problem with the 1st gen MS3 is still the turbo. I seriously think about what I would do if my turbo blew at least once a day...do I have the funds to replace it? How much do I still owe on the car? Can I borrow another car to get back and forth to school/work? I guess this is the problem with wanting any sporty/modified car, but still...

Of course I bought mine with already high-ish miles (45,000) and am at 64,000 now so I have a right to be a little worried. She's getting old already! But it is a great car besides the smoking turbo issue...

Some people fall victim to the smoking turbo at 10k!! It all depends on how hard you push it, how careful you are, and how lucky you are haha.

I still have about 10k miles left on the warranty so I'm kinda hoping that if my turbo is going to start smoking...better now than later. But hopefully it never happens!!!!

Buying outright it would be awesome...Because if push comes to shove, you can maybe somehow borrow money to fix any issues--and do it right from the beginning. AKA I would just scrap together stock replacement stuff if mine blew, but with some extra cash a BT build could be had...nothing crazy just better than stock replacement...I don't have the luxury of having a $15,000 car loan AND a $10,000 parts loan. LOL, but I could swing a $10,000 parts loan if the car was paid off...

2009 you shouldn't have a problem Evan...at least that's what they say...I dunno if they have changed their story on that
