The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

I say Cosworth motor. That would be EPIC. But it's also much easier to tell people how to spend money when it's not yours...

Werd up! Oops, I meant to include the pic in my post before, but i r dum sometimes.

For me, I like being kinda different and doing things that other people don't, so I'd probably go for the Cossie, plus the ones I've heard on youtube sound absolutely gorgeous. How long will that engine last driving it like a rotary?

Sound awesome, look awesome, perform awesome... but near pointless below 5000 rpm. Unfortunately. :(

Phen, why do you have to be such a downer? We can't all have muscle cars like yours. :P

Haha, sorry man! I just learned things about the practicality and function of race engines and parts and much like a 2-stroke four wheeler or dirtbike, they're happiest at WOT and high RPM. Driving around town... not so good. Hell... the MSM is pointless for putting around town.

here's my dilema:

1. going turbo - around 4k and i know i'll have the same power as a stock speed3. I'd only do the tri-point kit so forging is not necessary

2. crate engine - 12k (without an ECU mind you) + 2k for the ECU and wiring + xx$$ for tuning. this is if i find an engine since it's no longer listed in the cosworht site. I'm sure Marlon would be able to help me find one through Mazda or a team that no longer needs it but it might be used which means it needs to be rebuilt. either way, it's the easiest option to just swap out the engine, and i'll end up having 280ish (nana)

3. upgrade the parts on my current engine and either have DPTune reprogram my ECU or go stand alone, either way it's on the lower 10K and would involve a lot more work. who knows how much power this will make, best guess same as a stock speed3

so, turbo is cheapest but the other two make more power and can handle higher RPMs better (kind of a good thing for me :D)

thoughts?

this is the same dilemma in our house :) but sean still dreams of a supercharger...

I went to go test drive the new Mazda2 this afternoon, it was a blast!
that car is soooo easy to drive! (i got the manual version of course) and it's quite peppy too! i really love it for such a small car, it's amazing!
the only was that for 17k new it's kinda pricey... for only about 5k more you can get a Mazda3 and with it a lot more power, room, and function...so i'm not sure if i'm serious about this one.
they said there's rumors of a Mazdaspeed2 in 2012...we'll see!

Oh yeah, and i saw someone's spicy out there...wonder who's it is?!? lol *wink, wink*
I asked about it when i walked into the shop, they said, "yeah, that's like he's third transmission!" ...i lol'd a little

Touche' sir.

Oh, and when you have my luck, pretending that you're playing with a wankel gets more and more common...

Damn it, Kevin. You're not allowed to buy anymore cars. What's with you and Phen and your car collections? Haha

Morning everyone....Friday yet?
