Bad Primary O2 Sensor?

Has anyone had there primary O2 sensor go bad? My cars has been acting up lately and I suspect it's the o2 sensor. I'll be driving at a slow speed in vacuum and all of a sudden my air fuel will lean out to around 17-19 and the car will sputter. But mostly it will completely cut out just like a fuel cut. But once I let off the gas and get back on it the car seems fine. Mileage is 39k mods Sri/tip/tbe/Ptp Sst and wga/Ptp pump/Hks ignition/Cobb ap on stage 2+. What's weird is that it just started happening when I installed the Sst. Any have the car do this? Maybe o2?

it is a y band o2 so they are pricey. i dont know if that is you problem but i have a brand new one sitting at me house if you are interested. they like to take the threads with them if they have never been out before.

Yeah I kno there expensive. That's why I'd like to make sure it's bad or going bad before I buy a new one. Autozone has em for $330 but amazon has em for $194.

Yes, this is most certainly the front O2 sensor. It is indeed a Wide-Band sensor meaning it measures and outputs a wide rand of voltage to represent the actual AFR, not just rich or lean like the simple rear O2 sensor and will cost more.

It doesn't matter where you buy it because they are pretty much all made by Bosch. What makes them unique is the specific OEM required connector.

I had mine go out at about 45,000 miles. Thankfully got it fixed under warranty. That is how mine acted and would get really bad while accelerating.

Thanks for the help guys. Just ordered one through oilfiltersonline.com. Was $194 shipped. Not bad. Says that it's a direct oem replacement. Hopefully it'll come with a clip.

I had the same issue, and it was the MAF had gone bad. replaced, and it was great.

Yep, MAF can cause similar issues, but usually will set a code. Not always though. The O2 is cheaper than a MAF though. You can also just clean the crud off the MAF and try it again. The WB O2 sensor, not so much....
