NEMOC Random BS Thread

Had an awesome day today. Drove the 105 miles of Skyline Drive. The road is awesome. Then drove 230 odd miles of Blue Ridge Parkway. It was even more awesome. Soo many twisties. Tomorrow the tale of the dragon.

I am exhausted

was a story on msnbc...was practicing for an air show in canadia.

soo...shop says a wheel is bent, which is weird because I didn't hit any potholes after I worked on the car, and it didn't have the wobble before. Any chance the suspension was soaking in the wobble before?

And, they said there's nothing wrong with the rear sus...that's its just something in the trunk...iunno...

So now I need 17" tires to put on my other wheels, or another wheel from the JY.

Hmm, anyone has stock RX-8 rear swaybar bushing and brackets?

Sold them, sorry bro.

So I received a very interesting email yesterday from a Dr. Edwards. Yes, father of John Edwards #68 RX-8. Impressed with my work and wants to talk. (yippy)

Phew.... Holy s*** is it muggy and hot out. I finished working on the MS6 this morning and she's running fine. No leaks! I did forget that you have to "burp" the MS6 to get all the air bubbles out, but got rid of them by squeezing the upper radiator hose a few times.

Just a word of note: I got the ECT alarm on my DashHawk before the temp gauge even remotely goes to hot. The DashHawk was going off at 231 deg while the temp gauge on the car was still in the middle.... Something to keep in the back of your mind.

Bruce, I am going to try to get the tires from Mahk this week, get them mounted and balanced, I am going to go outside right now and see if I can get the bleeder on the pass side rear to open up just enough to see if it'll turn. If it does, are you available some time to help me bleed the brakes?

Ok so no go on the bleeder. It was actually starting to bend when I tried it. So.....Looks like im going to have to order a caliper and change it out.

Did the Tail today. Freeaking awesome. But too bloddy hot. Only covered 173 miles today with a low of 26 MPG. What a blast. Saw a motorcyle crash on my way out.

Heading back tomorrow.

ordered hub centric rings for my 17's. also picking up some falken tires tomorrow for the 17's, so should be good to go.

Man what a change in the weather from yesterday to today. Spent the weekend camping out at ALMS :). Thursday night was beautiful, rained all day Friday into the late evening and then today...wow today was hot, heat index of 98 @ Lime Rock. Awesome weekend, saw Jenn's 8, but never her....

Damn hot here as well. Made for a very sticky outdoor wedding. Then the rain came through and after that it cooled down a bit. Got some really nice pictures for my first time.

I was emulating my MS6, Will...

Soooooooooo hot at Lime Rock.. Almost couldn't get in!! Something was messed up at will-call but I persisted and we got in.. thank you so much Bruce!! Probably the first time at Lime Rock where I didn't walk the whole track because it was just too hot out. I was using my umbrella for shade. Still got a stellar burn on my legs.. Pic pending...

Awesome!! I'd love to see some of the pictures if you're allowed to share them.

I guess this is the one time I can say I am glad I didn't go to the races. However, next weekend will be totally different at Watkins Glen! Working for Speed Source and watching the race are two totally different things. I can't wait..... Yay!
