MS6 burning oil.

Hello, last night while being stopped at idle I could smell a strong scent of oil burnig through the vents, I stopped and checked the exhaust and its not smoking, I opened the hood but I couldn't see much but could smell the oil burning.

Any ideas?, probably taking a trip to the dealer today.

Smells like motor oil, didn't see any on the ground, quick question on warranty, I have extended warranty until 100k, if the service needed is covered I dont need to pay anything right, are there any fees, also do I get a loaner car?

Yep, you're smelling the slight amount of oil getting past the turbine seal. The "smoke" is usually thinned so much as it burns up in the cat that you can't see it on OEM setups. The unmistakeable aroma of burnt motor oil will get through occassionally though. There is really no permanent fix other than a different turbo CHRA that is more robust than the OEM style K04. In some cases the PCV valve is either leaking a bit or clogged enough to affect the pressure differential and result in more leakage and smoke than "normal".

I suggest you get the car up to operating temp, put it in neutral, rev the engine to a steady 3500-4000 rpms and hold it there until the engine revs drop to idle by itself. This gets max heat into the turbo/cat under no load to burn off the deposits...

Thanks for the help guys, I contacted a local dealer and have an appointment, weird thing, I took off my Cobb Intake and Greddy BOV and now the oil smell is gone. Still taking it for safe measures.
