What have you done to your Miata today?

How much can you fit in those? I'm torn between that and the four piece set. Put my h&rs on yesterday at the alignment shop today

i was seriously suprised by how much they fit....got enough clothes for about 7 days worth plus all my toiletries, and i still have quite a bit of left over room. plus there is still a bunch of room in the trunk for more stuff. I like that the material is real thick and that the zippers are heavy duty.

Installed new wheels/tires over the weekend. From those ugly hubcap steelies to these. They're stock off a '96 Integra and painted a black/gray color. They were cheap and came with Falken Ziex ZE912's.

Is the 1.8 from 99's same as the 1.8 from 94+? and would a 6spd trans mount into a 5 spd car?

Re the 1.8: No. IIRC the 99-00 has higher compression and a VICS manifold. The 01-04 had higher yet compression, the VVT head, and a main bearing support plate. Not sure but IIRC they also had the VICS manifold as well.

Re the 6 spd: Yes, but you need a 6 spd flywheel / clutch / pp IIRC, due to the different input shaft spline count. But I don't know why you'd want to do that. 6th gear is actually shorter than 5th gear in a 5 speed.

i'm looking at a 99 1.8 with trans installed still and ecu for $1000 local is why i ask

not worth messing with? I KNOW i can get a 94+ 1.8 for cheaper from my local buddy that buys wrecked miatas

the 99 has the best flowing head, and one of the best bottom ends

I've heard best is to do 99 head on 94-97 bottom end. At least in an NA.
