Any photographers in here?

Thanks! Yes! it's a great lens! I took some photos of airplanes too, but there was so much haze and it was so hot, there were heat waves coming off of the tarmac. I might see what I can do with some of them...

As far as wide angle or fisheye lenses go, as far as I've heard, the tokinas are hard to beat.

! I'll have to look into those.

Changing the mood. Photo was taken at Oxford, NJ. lots of wetlands and canals there. Took me about 20 minutes to creep up on these two.

I LIKE TOITLES!

Definitely need to get closer for sure. Grass distracts.

at the moment it was the point. So it looks like the toitles are hiding/blending in.

Shot was unfortunately taken at a greater distance than desired, about 50-80 feet away (5-10 feet away fro the edge of a water bed. Like I said it took me 20-25 minutes to creep up that close to those toitles. I was trying to do the same with bigger size ones, but them things heard me a mile away and went under water. This is a job for a better zoom lens ^_^

Never saw this thread until now. I'm simply a photo enthusiast. Shot this last summer on my annual Lake Umbagog camping trip. Rebel XSi with a 70-200 2.8IS and a 2x extender.

wow, nice!

what aperture setting did you use? I've been wondering if that lens + the 2x would work well.

Mixy that is just a great photo!

These pics remind of when I used to travel to gas plants and do tech support in for them out in the bush. In the middle of winter.

I hope not in that pimpin' MSP!

I'll have to check the original when I get home. I had really good luck with the extender and it's worth the money if you already have a 70-200.

Hm, that one's not as sharp. I think I'll start out with the 1.4x.

Yeah, shooting without a tripod in a shaky canoe can be a challenge. I've got some shots with the eagle in front of a rising moon which are not too sharp and very noisy but certainly a unique view!

What do you mean?

Well as for centering the subject in that case, the photo felt a little awkward to me with the plane off to the left-side of the image. What I meant by the second part, was its difficult at an airport to get the sun at your back for better lighting due to perimeter fences, access, etc. Just mentioning its something to consider...
