hellzya! you wont be disapointed with it!
MS3Jon, that is just an amazing photo! What's the exposure time on that one?
Dude! That's actually a pretty decent camera. The only thing you're missing is the wide angle and a tripod for yourself. It's got up to iso800 which is as high as you wanna go on a sensor size that big, plus you have manual exposure to adjust all your settings such as aperture, iso and shutter speed.
What kind of stuff have you been trying to take pics of?
I used to rock the s5000, it was stellar for a zooming p&s. But I can understand wanting a real DSLR. My only advise would be look at what lenses you could get if you grabbed a D90 instead of a D300...
I forgot to mention the thing I really hate about this camera... the firmware. It does weird stuff, and takes forever to respond once you turn it on. It also lacks the ability to do multiple frames per second. My main concern is that it is REALLY SLOW!!
Something to consider...
I do agree that the s5000 is a great point and shoot camera though, It's just time to step it up to a real DSLR.
For sure. D300 is a good choice.
Im just glad most of the people in this thread have gotten over the Canon vs Nikon debate.
hellz'ya! I can't wait to get my hands on my own D300 next summer!
Just noticed I just passed 10,000 photos through my XTi. I've had it since Christmas 2007 so am averaging about 4,000 photos a year. I've learned a lot since then and learn something new all the time.
Here's to the next 10,000 photos!
Bonus points if you can name the bird!
(not like a name name, I already named him steve. I'm talking about what kind of bird it is!)
IT'S A PENGUIN! No wait, penguins don't fly.
Sleeper, what lens is that?
70-200 2.8IS
Pretty kick ass.
