The problem is in 1st gear the car will accelerate and boost just fine when started up. Once you shift to 2nd gear and accelerate the car will spit and sputter at approx 3500rpm. After that the car will stop boosting no matter what gear you are in. Any ideas? The car is stock besides an Injen intake.

maybe too much air not enough fuel

ha other way around buddy. to much fuel for to little air.

check the couplers. my friends coupler on the intercooler wasnt tight and it was leaking so he would boost only to 3 and it would stumble all over the place .

So I found out the knock sensor keeps tripping. I am thinking it's possible the turbo is overboosting. Standing by for boost gauge to come in. Any other ideas?

If it's pinging then your ECU si pulling timing. What other ideas do you need? How much boost and what octane are you running?

I don't know how much the turbo is boosting. It should be stock though. I have a feeling it is overboosting because the knock sensor keeps tripping under acceleration which causes it to sputter. I don't here it pinging at all and it is 91 octane.

Resolution?

Did anyone figure out the cause of this problem? I've got it right now too, and I'm not sure what to do.

Just wondering how do you know the knock sensor is tripping? To check the WGA diaphram... find the vacuum connection (on he driver side), disconnect it and blow into it (or draw a vacuum) it should be air-tight .... if not it needs to be replaced.

Sounds like your car is hitting the infamous fuel cut. Like everyone else said buy a wastegAte actuator and that should fix it. If not then you prolly need to replace your intercooler pipes with harpipes cause I had this same problem and my hoses were cracked and busted.
