My factory alarm systems is going crazy on me. It completely shuts down the car which doesnt allow me to do anything. The power will come on but wont allow me to start up the car. I found the Mazda Secuirty Alarm box and i here a ticking sound coming from it. Same sound i here from my Fuse box. When i try to lock/unlock my car, it dies on me. Could it be Anti-theft alarm system? The only solution i think is to remove the alarm. Anyone else had this problem?? Anyone know how to remove it.

I'm not sure, you can kill the alarm buy removing the fuse (driver door panel by left leg) marked "room" It controls the dome light, alarm, and power locks (and radio? i think). See if that will help

my alarm has never malfunctioned, but car would still start when it was disconnected by the fuse being removed.

The same thing just happened to me. I was removing the battery to do fix my line from my bov and put the battery back and my car wouldn't start. But i swear i didnt blow a fuse, but i went to auto zone anyways to buy the main fuse 100a and a couple of the 10's and whatevers just in case.

After replacing them all i get the same clicking noise and my alarm is going crazy....still have power to the car, windows, radio, tt turns on, but on the odometer would flash and tell me my milage then slowly fad and say "ERR" iam assuming that means error....any help guys?

yeah i unhooked the battery and took out that room fuse and put the battery back in to see if i can even start the car, and i still wouldnt let me start then it would all of sudden go all crazy again...i guess my car is thinking am stealing it.

I guess my protege has Alzheimer...

The factory alarm is known to go out and is generally a POS. I think thats why it was removed and bypassed by the previous owner of my car.

well, even if the factory alarm is out...shouldn't it still let me start the car? and my battery for my remote is good, because when i click the car's little red light thing in front of gauges blinks then, continues to blink then the horn fads in and out?

any idea???

yep i guess its not related to the alarm....but still cant start the dam thing, i tried everything disconnecting the battery, and putting it again, replacing fuses that don't even look blown with new ones. prying to the MazdaSpeed gods, killed a goat and used it as a sacrifice ...still.....nothing (encourage)

but i guess i gotta fork over the majority of my pay check now to Mazda and let them take a crack at it

and thanks all for the quick replays and response.

try taking a wire directly from the positive terminal to the start solenoid. that'll tell you if the starter is dead or if its a wiring problem somewhere in the chain.

no need to take it in for repair yet.

do the dash lights and everything work when you turn the key to "ON"?

when you unlock, that light should go off. does it?

Do you own a volt meter? have you double checked the ground and power?
How old is your battery? what about main fuses under the hood?

sorry no volt meter, but the battery isnt too old only 2-3 years and i never leave my lights on so i never needed a jump, and that was my first thought about the main fuse under the hood, so i got another main fuse and replaced the 100a under the hood, and still the same problem.

and there is power to the inside of the car when i turn the key onto "on" power turns on fine, but its when i try to start it is the problem, all you near is a clicking noise from the fuse box on the driver side and from the box under the hood, and ill check on the start, but i do hear the starter clicking

haha sorry wagon i just hit refreshed and didnt see your untill a couple of min's ago...but your post is just as important and helpful hahah

sounds like it either isn't getting enough voltage, or it is simply worn out. that'll help you diagnose which is the case. starter replacement is probably a pain in the ass, but definitely doable without paying a repairman.

the other possibilities are the starter relay, and the starter solenoid.

cool thanks wagonbacker, ill see what i can do, cause time isnt something i have a lot of right now, and it seems like a long labor intensive process , and i think i just might buy a new battery and hope that might be the solution. But even tho i had a bad battery it still shouldnt give no power to the inside right? and allow me to turn on the radio and ect.?? but i only ask this cause my power finds in and out some times? so maybe bad alternator?

don't spend any money until you connect the battery directly to the starter. no reason to suspect the batter strait away. the interior stuff will light up on less voltage, but the starter needs more juice to run than anything else on the car.

alternator is possible, but not where I'd go first.

Another thing you may want to check is your battery terminals, especially if you're in a humid or northern climate. I've had to replace both of mine due to corrosion which gave me the same problem you're experiencing.
