Need step by step instructions to unmarry a cobb AP gen1 from a speed3

bought it on ebay, but the owner is having trouble doing the unmarry and wants to cancel the deal. At least he is not trying to set me up for a trip to Cobb cust service

Hi Michael,
I can't take the cobb tuner off, it won't let me unmarry it. I'm going to email the guy who sold me the car like that and see what he did to the car before. Like I said the car is highly modified so I'm taking piece by piece off as the days go on. I will keep you posted, I followed the directions on the cobb website step by step but it's not reading properly.

there is a bug in the latest firmware that prevents you from switching maps, unmarrying etc. cobb has a fix coming out by the end of the week. tell him to wait, update his firmware when the fix is out, then send it to you

After pondering this, I think I will release him from the deal.

Unless I have a receipt from cobb for full retail, I think I will always be worried about getting the support this unit seems to need

i bought mine from somewhere outside of cobb, never had a problem. they ask for ur serial number, firmware version etc and have always taken care of me

I think he just realized he can get much more, $305 would be a great deal or perhabs it's a hot unit and he can't uninstall it. I would not let him out and wait for him to uninstall. I would request a pic with the screen reading uninstalled.
