would a headunit automaticly void my warranty even if everything is still working? Also would you recomnd putting a sub or is the bose sound system decent enough.

I'm pretty sure a HU would not void warranty unless something was installed absurdly wrong and caused some serious electrical damage. However, you have to be a very gifted moron to accomplish this. Therefore, I think you are safe. I installed my own aftermarket Head Unit and have been to the stealership many times. They have never said anything, nor has anything went wrong

It will void the warranty OF your headunit, and all things related to the audio system.

If you go into the dealer with blown door speakers, and NON OEM headunit, they will laugh at you (with good reason).

well, there's also another thread here that a dealer didn't want to fix something that had to do with climate control because an aftermarket stereo was installed, citing that it could mess up the CAN bus. if you're not the audiophile type (and it sounds like you aren't) save your energy and money, and instead do a simple fix found under this main thread. it involves installation of some capacitors and inductors and a tweeter swap, and your stereo will sound much, much better. pm me if you need more info.

That's my take on it. And I am a certified internet advice provider. (hand)

just go to the dealer nearest you, and ask them... That really should be enough. If you are paranoid, ask for it in writing, but they will probably not want to issue that in writing.



EVERYTHING related to the audio system will not be covered under mazda warranty if you install aftermarket components - this is pretty straight forward.

If the can bus system was tied into the audio system, and you changed it - all things attached are no longer covered.
