Hello,
I am new here and I didn't see the sub-forum that fit my question. Please point me the right way.

I have M6 I-Grand Toruing 2009.
Yesterday I have a car wash. After the car dried up, I happened to lower the window like half way and rolled back up. Window came up wet from inside(I mean inside the car). It is reasonable to be wet outside glass, but getting wet inside doesn't seem right to me.
It happened the same thing after driving in the rain. After the rain stopped for like half day. I tried the same way, it happened while everything else is dried.
That shows that there are substantial amount of water soaked/trapped in the door.

Does anyone have the same issue? Thanks

Haven't noticed

I've taken my 2010 through the car wash (touchless) about three time in three months. No water issues.

Most cars have a drain hole in the bottom of the door to keep this from happening. you might want to look at the bottom of the door it should be on the outside of the seal that runs around the bottom of the door. And look for the hole, there could be something plugging it.

Have the same problem on my 09 MS6. Took it to my dealer had them look at it, they told me that the drain holes at the bottom of the door are not plugged, so there should be no real problem. Will post if I find out more, is not really a big problem!!

I have the same problem with my 2009 6. Took it to the dealer and they could not find a problem. The inside of both front door glass is always coated with a film. Is it possible that there is water inside the door? This is a big pain in the butt and the dealer will do nothing.

I exchanged emails with Nathan, a customer assistance specialist with Mazda. He said there was nothing they could do either. I am very disappointed with Mazda and Hall Mazda in Brookfield WI. Since Mazda already said they wouldn't do anything it would be a waste of time to take it to another Mazda dealer. I will take the doors apart myself and find out what the problem is.

Visited a second dealer, they said they have seen this problem before. They called Mazda who said it is normal to have a salt film on the inside of the front windows on a late model Mazda 6. There is no fix. I find it interesting that Mazda has redesigned the window carrier on the left and right doors for the 2011 model year while the door shell is exactly the same. Why did the carrier change? My guess is because it was a poor design and accumulated water.

My dealership called last week to tell me that they escalated the problem past the district rep. and that engineering called to tell them they developed solution. I took the car in this morning and an engineer walked them thru the repair process. They modified the inner window weatherstrip and the bottom of the glass on both front doors. They said this will redirect the water to the drain holes like it should be. They washed the car and there was no streaking. They covered it as a goodwill repair. Hopefully this solves the problem.
