im not sure how to take out and what all to take out interior wise to install my new shifter bushings. i got as far as taking out the two 8 mm bolts out of the bottom of the armrest compartment and im not sure where to go from there...

Just curious... who did you get your bushings from? I got mine from TWM, and they came with detailed instructions on disassembling the center console, including pics. Made it a snap, relatively speaking.

Same here, the instructions from TWM were top notch.

Be careful not to drop them under the carpet, its a pain in the dick to get them out from under there.

Dropped mine under the passenger side carpet and its not just bare floor there, there's like a spacer and then floor underneath that that makes a nice place for the bushing to slide into.

removing the entire piece is not necessary, but will give you more room.
so all you really have to do, is lift up the cupholders. unscrew the shift knob (not even necessary either) and you just life up that plastic piece over the shifter.
BOOM access to all four shifter bushings.
the one in the front on the driver's side is the toughest, do it first.
use an extension.
you might have to pop off one of the shifter cables.

SU shifter bushings don't come with photo instructions either, but I was already familiar with the setup from installing the COBB STS.
