505 Intake Manifold COMPLETED!

Getting excited, mine is tracking to be here tomorrow! My meth kit goes in with this IM so it'll be a long install day. Rich I have a question, others might have the same question so I'll ask it publically. I have NSN thermal spacers currently on the car between the head and current mani as well as mani and TB. Do you think it'd be wiser to remove those with your mani? I know the measurements on yours are pretty precise so I would not want to compromise them. I am not worried so much about the TB spacer as I am the mani spacer. Thoughts? Discussion?

Neither spacer should be a problem, but I can't say 100% for sure since I don't have any here. The only thing I can see coming up is a clearance issue for the TB, with the hard line that comes out of the side of the brake fluid reservoir. That line can be bent a little if the need arises, so you should be alright with both of them.

So I got around to unpacking it today. Very nice, superb quality all around.

Even so, I needed to have my engine builder take a look at it to double check the quality.

I think he approves.

I was too slow on one picture that would have been great, he had his whole arm shoved up the TB flange, but alas I didn't get the evidence. Oh damn and don't pay any attention to the huge river of snot running from his nose, that junk was thick.

Glad you guys all dig them so far... these ones all turned out really good. If it hadn't been for the damn laser shop debacle, I'd venture as far as to say they came out perfect.

With the black ones, I was trying to get them as close to anodized looking as possible. All of you guys that chose black had originally wanted it anodized, so I went that route. They had 6 stages of black ranging from true flat to ultra gloss. I went with one step up from true flat... giving it that tiny bit of shine.

Looking forward to seeing the rest of you guys getting yours. I got word from Kelly yesterday that the welding was almost completely finished on the last ones. His machine is going to be free for the decking monday or tuesday. After that it's just the blasting and I'll take them straight over to the coater.

I'll be sending out invoices to the rest of you guys here over this next week, and am shooting for your part to be ready to ship in roughly 3 weeks.

ALL manifolds are out of welding as of today. Decking on the main flanges is all done. Media blasting is all that is left before I go pick them up. Any day now. (rockon)
