Does anyone know why dealers seem to be viod of GTs RES/NAV? Is there something I'm missing? I have been trying to find one for weeks now and all the dealer tell me is there is one in VA. Should I just forego the RES and get an aftermarket set?

I got the same problem.
IMO, people like moonroof/Bose rather than RES.
My local dealer can only find one in blue color, but I like white one.
I guess I will go for it.
I am waiting for loan approval from my bank because my credit is not good.

Does anyone here have a RES?

We initially wanted RES on our 2009, and spent a long time looking for one. In the end, I'm glad we didn't get it. I look at it like building a house, some things you can rather easily add later (Rear DVD, roof rails, hitch, etc.), other things you need to make sure you get up front because you won't be able to change them (i.e. AWD/FWD). You can get the moonroof/bose and still add an aftermarket RES that is better than the factory one for less than what it will cost you for the factory one. IMHO, forego the RES and add it later on at your convenience.

Mazda does offer the RES as part of their accessory catalog. I went with the factory RES because I the little ones don't appreciate the sunroof. The Bose comes in both packages.

The Bose system with the RES is better than the one with Moonroof package.
Mainly with DSP processing and extra speakers if I recall correctly.

batman25, the same batman75 in CL? LOL!
Yes I have the RES. It sounds really good and the kid loves it. My son is 20 months old and every time he sits in the CX-9 he points his finger to the DVD player! (RES=every penny $)

It is indeed correct.

Very few here in the Northeast. I test drove one today at a Boston-area dealer, but it was in white, which is the only color I don't want (although it looks great in the picture above).

It's caused us to reconsider getting it. $3K is a lot, although if you want Nav, they always come with the $2K moonroof, so it ends up being only $1K difference.
