What have you done to your MSP today?

Pearl just ***** with your mojo.. we have tried 5 different basecoat colors now and are just basicly tinting it custom at this point.
this one is promising though.

on the positive side, all the work is done on the lip and it looks near new.. just need to get this color sorted out and i can have my lip back! been looking rediculous without fogs or a front lip for a while now.
might get p5 headlights this weekend too ;)

Watch with the match mine was perfect till I threw down multiple coats of clear and then it got a slight hint of blue under some lighting conditions. Not too bad but enough to tell and you are obviously going for perfection. I am with you. Hopefully you have better luck with the yellow. Looks like you got it.

Teaser Pic (snapped on iphone at work quick):

You have any plans on cleaning up the trunk at all, or are the plugs your permanent fix? Just looks unfinished to me and probably be a bit cleaner if you patched the holes or put another trunk on...

Hitch looks good though, gonna tow your AutoX tire trailer with it? (burnout)

Theres a possibility (and there has been for months now, so who knows) that a local MSPer is gonna move platforms. in which case I would soon after become the owner of a CF trunk (and likely hood as well). I'm on the lookout for another trunk locally that I could repaint as well, but until I can pick one up for a steal, I'm OK with this.

hitch was installed because my parents didn't have ANY tow vehicle for a while, and I wanted the ability to do a short haul of a quad or a waverunner if necessary.. Its literally never been used. As for autoX, I'd just mount the wheels at my rents where they'd likely be stored anyway.

I want to go hardcore on my car so badly (being a closet CF *****) but I have to refrain. There's so much stuff I can and want to do RIGHT NOW, but alas, the current plans are waiting for spring so I can include it all in a video I'm making...

CF on titanium looks tits beyond all belief...

Well. Talked to the guy doing my motor, and I will be dropping it off on the 5th and pick it up a week later, then I have to go and pay the only dude intown to balance my crank and put my motor together (He won't let me put it together, thinks I'll sue him.) So there goes my Tax return... All of it.

I have mixed feelings on it... I think I'd paint at least some of it... but not sure how I'd do it. Might just paint the whole damn thing.

at least you're FINALLY getting your car back!

I know man. I'll be the first to admit that it's taken me WAY to long to get this thing going. But no one better say s*** it I show up with paint chipped off my front end and the paint not matching around my wheel wells. So much stuff to do before May and not enough money. May have to pull out another loan lol

It really all depends on what you want out of the car. Painting the whole thing would be awesome, cause I would consider the same thing, but it really hurts the resale value. Too bad there isn't an overlay you can put on it which makes it look painted, but can be taken off if you want to resell it.

On the other hand, if I ever got a CF hood, I'd paint most of it, but stencil out MAZDASPEED, outlined in yellow, somewhat like the Aston Martin N24 did:

I dunno, I always liked that sort of thing.

if I did the hood, I'd paint everything but the outer area. (the one I'd get has a pretty nasty gouge in the middle anyway) but all of that is basically and "only if the other guy parts out" anyway... hes blown it up 3 times now. lol

AAAAAAAAAAAAND

Bought SSAFC V2...

I don't need perfection and I just won't get it. The pearl siZe is different. I just don't want mustard and cheddar yellow to be beside each other. Looks fine in those pics but in te sun still too orange. One more tint should be enough. Should be close enough then

using my day off to get estimates on the damage. anyone know the part # for the msp front lip?!

Its irrelevant, as Mazda sold the last two in Mazda's inventory (including Mazda USA & Canada) over a year ago. I know cuz I bought one of them. They say they ran out sooner than they expected because so many owners of stock Proteges and P5's bought them to modify their cars. There are still some rear lips available because the P5's couldn't use them. Your best bet will be to find an excellent shop that will repair yours or try to find a used one in good condition in a local parts yard.

Having said all that, the front lip / air dam part # is 0000-86-C02-00. The last "00" would be the two digit paint code if the part came pre-painted; "00" would be primer only.
