CEL P2187 Vacuum hose check

So I Installed my CP-e nano & turbo inlet pipe about a month ago. after 2 weeks I started to get the CEL. My car falls under the high pressure fuel pump TSB so I got that done too, although my dealership was pretty annoyed with my intake. Is it possible that they may have said it, but never did it?? (I wonder really).

Anyways, the real problem is that I still have the CEL after the fuel pump TSB (got the car back about a week ago and it turned back on yesterday). I just took the intake off to checked the BVP hose and checked the boost solenoid hose (the little one near where the turbo and turbo inlet connect). They both seem to fit snug. I check the other hose right beside the MAF housing (what's this hose called?) and it seems to be doing ok. Is that everything? What other causes might it be? Did I check all the right hoses or miss any? Lastly, Is it ok to drive the car with this CEL or am I to expect major problems if I do?

I'm inclined to believe that if your other connections are tight, you may have a bad purge valve or a cracked hose going to the PCV valve, either of which can produce that code.

I cut and pasted the following from another forum:

"This code is indicative of a lean idle condition in your bank 1 o2 sensor stream. The most common cause of this is a bad purge solenoid valve. This is emissions related and can cause poor fuel economy and lead to other problems down the road. You should have the valve replaced and get the code cleared."

You do need to get this taken care of. If you are sucking unflitered air into your intake, this can quickly lead to internal engine damage.

There are some threads here on that code. Try using Google with with the words "mazdas247" and " P2187" without the quotes. It should bring you back to this forum and threads involving that code. Good luck.

I don't have any experience with a TIP but are you sure that it's snug on the turbo inlet?

I would take it easy on the motor until the problem is identified and resolved.

I think the issue may have been my PCV hose (the one I couldn't identify, I looked it up) was loose. The blue latch thing was wiggling around probably was the problem there.

Should be fixed now, but I will check the PCV hose to make sure its not broken and I will see about this purge valve.

Where is the purge valve and what does it look like? by crack I assume you mean it has some physical damage that I can see?

Curious also to find out which hose this is.

the unknown hose in my original post is the PCV hose.

on the TIP/Intake is a total of 3 "hoses" other than the main tubing. one for the solenoid (tiny one on the TIP), one for the BPV (the largest, and is run under the intake), and the PCV hose which is closest to the MAF housing.

The one that plugs into the intake tract? Not the one off the BPV right?

It does plug into the Intake. The MAF sensor/housing is the black piece that you screw back onto the new intake. its got wires and s*** coming out of it to the ECU. if you are getting a CP-E nano, the nipple right next to it is for the PCV system. that is the hose that you take the blue latch piece and put it on the nipple. You have to make sure that that is on snug. there is a built in ring on the nipple you have to get the blue piece to latch onto the ring, its pretty simple once you do it, but its not easy to tell from just looking at it. here is a picture I found, if you look at the nipple you can see a small part of the blue piece.
Notice the nipple comes out of the intake toward the engine side in the picture (thats how it should in your car too! yay, it is in mine).

BTW: I would like to thank copperkid (also on this forum) for the picture. Its not mine.

That blue piece is what originally cause my CEL. Its hard as the PCV hose doesn't quiet line up correctly, it still doesn't with me which sucks I feel like that is something that should have been fixed, but I think its a better idea really to get a catchcan and remove the PCV from your intake. who the f wants oil vapor going into the intake?
