Yeah, I know... I wanted to come up but #1 I didn't have the money, and #2 the Protege has eaten two brand new blizzaks in under 2 months because of the alignment. I had to wait till I had some cash to get one done.

Damn....that sux. After my trip up I should take it in to Firestone. I hit a couple of nice potholes in CT.
After driving Amanda's Dodge Nitro all week up North, it feels good to be back in the Speed6. First off, that truck definitely needs snow tires. The tires on it suck ass in the snow/ice. I will be ordering those...TODAY! Second, I just feel so disconnected from the road. Changing lanes on the highway makes me nervous. I can't explain it. Perhaps its because it is tall and narrow because I don't feel that way in my Dad's Avalanche.
glad you getting some snows for that nitro! my friend's jeep has the OEM tires.. they look knobbly enough for snow, but look kinda stiff and not very siped, so probably pretty poor on ice.
I'm doing good. Back to work after 10 days off. The power steering pump blew up in the Nissan so I am rocking a 09 F-350 superduty diesel 4wd with a 9 1/2 Fischer plow. Talk about rednecking it. It gets 23 hwy. Not bad for a large diesel truck.

I've got Dunlop SP Wintersports on my MS6 and they are great. Being "performance winter" tires they are more expensive than some of the cheaper "light truck/suv ice & snow" tires. I've always heard great things about the Blizzaks but I've also heard that they wear fast. Where can you find the treadwear rating?
Also, thoughts on this wheel in a 17" for $138/each.
It's very similar to the OEM 20"s but I'm trying to save money by going with 17"s.

I can vouch that the Blizzak WS-50's are good in the snow. The WS-60's are supposed to be better. Mine have worn a little faster than I would have liked but I attribute that to my driving style. I tend to push them harder than I should when it's dry out.....gotta stop doing that.
As for treadwear, you are not going to find any with a rating. Due to the nature of the beast the tire companies don't offer any such 'warranty' or 'promise'.
And those wheels will look nice on the Nitro.
