What have you done to your MP3 today???

Installed Tokico Illuminas. Set them at 5/4 for the 20 minute drive home, damn thats stiff... lol Some stretches on the highway were killin me with how uneven they were.

O, and I somehow lost a bracket to my rear sway bar... But I don't really feel like sitting in the snow right now to remove the sway bar... Looks like I'm gonna end up finally buying the AXR clunk brackets or whatever they're called. **** wasting money on OEM brackets.

Finished building my custom Clunk Fix brakets. they use the stock brackets and I'm putting in an AWR bushing. I'll get more pics once the paint dries and they are installed.

BTW that clean metal primer can took a crap all over my hand and didn't spray so much as just spill out of the top. Hence the big drips and puddles all over.

Would it be possible to relocate the brackets farther to the outside of the bar? I mean just drill new holes, maybe 1" outside of their current locations. Would this affect the integrity of the swaybar or sanything else? Hmmm...

If it is on an MP3 then no there are little plates welded where the brakets mount. I would just go ahead and get the AXR brakets or make your own version.

No those brakets are mounted to the outside bolts of the cross member very near the shock. They go as far out as you can get

^Well that explains why I was having trouble conceptualizing how those brackets mounted... This will hopefully completely solve my problem.

Chris- we probably should think about adding that horizontal bar to stabilize the new bracket. I had intended on this in the design, but kinda forgot about it. Unfortunately, one of my stock swaybar mount locations is stripped out (in the bottom hole where the stabilizer bar would mount) and you said you stripped out one of yours too... Which was it?

I don't see how there is any side-to-side movement. That's the whole point of the lateral links. That plus the massively heavy duty brackets, plus the heavy swaybar, plus the black clamps/stops you bought should lock everything in place pretty well, I would think.

I wouldn't hesitate to install as is, just keep an eye out for deflection in those brackets. (Haha- yeah right!)

They are still at 5/4 right now, but I will probably dial them down to 4/3 for daily driving. I'll probly see how 3/2 feels also, but I'm guessing my tires will be rubbing like mad on 3/2...

Rear sway will be coming out tonight until I get a chance to order and install the Clunk fix brackets. Which will probly be sometime in January.

My bro said he wanted to take a look at the brackets ranierez & wildo are making. In which case I may be following suit with custom sway brackets. Not sure yet tho. I don't have time between work & school to make em. But maybe, since the AXR brackets are f'in expensive! lol

Ranierez: Did you and wildo make those lateral bars & get those brackets mounted up on your car yet? Let me know how it goes...

There were no custom lateral bars made. I assume you are not talking about the stock lateral links, rather are talking about the little horizontal bar that hooks to the new bracket. In that case- no, I have not made any. Chris did get his mounted, though I am awaiting pics as eagerly as you are. My set is still only 75% complete.

I did post a number of pics (as well as starting a new thread on it) in the P5 section since I own a P5 and will be mounting them on that...

The brackets could certainly be designed better if you have all the right parts in hand prior to making them. I didn't have the horseshoe bracket in hand when designing it- so the area where that mounts was not exactly right. We had to cut it out and weld in a slightly smaller piece. If I made another set- I'd measure correctly the first time to avoid this... Anyway- enjoy the pics. I would also be willing to post pics of the dimensions of each part if you need...

I am doubtful that I will make custom brackets right now, so don't bother posting up the dimensions just yet, unless you want to. But I will let you know. Thx for the info!
