I can't believe it, there is NOTHING I want to change

There are a several things I'd like to see changed, starting with the darned seats.

I have an '07 Touring with 5 speed manual. Most of the shortcomings like the extra a/c vents and the lack of armrests were addressed in '08, but the 5 really, really needs either a longer seat bottom and/or a seat height adjustment for the front part of the seats under the knees. As it is, I'm finding I dislike driving my 5 more and more whenever I drive more than 45 minutes or so. The seats are too flat and horizontal - there's just absolutely no thigh support - and I'm 5'10".

Makes me dislike the car more and more as I own it...

One other thing (and I hope somebody within Mazda reads these forums...) is the lack of availability of the manual transmission. I wanted a manual trans and a sunroof which seems to be a combination that is now impossible to get in the US. The base sport in 3 or so colors doesn't cut it for me. As it stands now, Mazda would lose me as a customer if I had to replace my 5 (I'm not planning to anytime soon...), but if I needed to, I'd probably go with the Elantra Touring as the manual trans/sunroof combo seems to be there. Oh, and I'd check those seats out really good as well...(drive)

The 5's seats feels like it doesn't grip me enough, especially when I get my Zoom Zoom on, but the short seats don't bug my 6'-1" frame one bit. My 08 Corolla gave me driver fatigue and sore thighs on long drives, something I've yet to experience in my 5. Sure the 5's seats aren't cushy comfy but they do hold up pretty well for long drives. I think in the end, different cars suit different drivers. A 6'-0" experienced back pains in a Kia Forte whereas his 5'-5" wife was perfectly fine.

Glove box lights in both my cars, still :)

They only light up if the parking or night lights are on

ok, I found ONE thing I'd like to change; why can't mazda allow the 12V outler to work when the car is off? my MPV was like this so I assume it's the mazda way (I haven't owned any other Japanese cars so I don't know how widespread this is). anyway, in my VUE I was able to charge my phone while I'm parked at work, or use the air compressor w/o having to turn the key.
not a big deal, but an 'always on' 12V is convenient.

I'm going to do a mod on the 12volts come spring.. But I will install a 'twist' timer so it will be disconnected after certain period. It's a relief to know that there won't be any 'forgotten' electrical loads in the outlets. Like for example those 12volts blower heater that people plug in to help warm up the interior.

My 07' GT has a MIA glove-box light.

Just had another "DUH" moment with the 5 (one of many). Turns out that the key must be on for the glovebox light to work.

Key off=light off....just like all the other electrical systems in the 5 designed to protect me from myself (no window power if the ignition is off; no 12v without ignition etc.)

Thanks Mazda, for caring so much about my safety.

I have to say that the seats in the 2010 GT seem to be a bit plusher (less firm bottoms) than our 07... but we'll see if that remains over time. I'm 5' 6" and its a perfect fit... I could see there being problems for the near 6' and up folks... though I have to say the ergonomics in the 2010 do seem to lean more towards the taller peeps than that of our 07. Another thing that makes me lol is they swapped the hot/cold and fan speed knobs... still getting used to that, admittedly they got it in the right spot on the 2010.

That since the 08, I believe it has to do with the rear A/C, still weird

I'm just glad to have a mazda that the HVAC isn't all wonky; the '94 626 (and the '00 MPV for that matter) it seemed you could never get the settings just right that the windows wouldn't fog up.
I am LOVING the special front defrost button in the 5, works great.
