Can't get my new wheels on!

This morning I went to install my new Kosei wheels and couldn't get the socket to engage the lug all the way around because the way the wheel is designed. When you hand tighten the lug, 2 sides of it are so tight to the spoke you can't get the socket on.They sent what looks like an extension socket, but it doesn't fit the lugs. Should I have extended length lugs? Am I missing something?. Ofcourse Tirerack is closed today

so.. the wheel fits, but you can't basicly get a socket around the lugs? try the OE emergecy lug nut thingy, alot of times those are thinner than an acutal socket.

I have the same problem with my wheels. As far as I know the only way to get around it is to use either spline style lugs, or internal socket lugs. If there's another option though I'd love to know, because you can't get either of these styles in decent quality.

So wouldn't Tirerack know about this issue when sending lugs out with these tuner wheels? Now i may have to shell out $60 to over $100.00 for tuner lugs?

I wouldn't pay for it. Try to get in contact with tire rack.
I bought my wheels from a shop and they put internal socket lugs on, which started to rust after two days. Then I bought a set of spline lugs off of ebay ... the finish started to flake off after two days. The hunt for decent lugs continues.

Wait, does TireRack actually send you lug nuts?? I wouldn't expect them to...

Just buy a set of spline-drive Gorilla lug nuts from Summit Racing. They're like $30 for a set of 20...

Update: Tirerack inadvertantly sent me the wrong lug nuts. They are sending Tuner style spline lug nuts with the socket adapter as part of the wheel and trie package. They were very apologetic for the mishap.

Glad to hear they got it straightened out for you.

Just curious- what model/style of Kosei wheels are you sitting on?

Kosei Racing K1-TS in light grey (I think) 17 by 7, with 215/50/17 Dunlop Wintersport M3's. Wheels weigh in at 13.7 lbs. I ordered what I thought were bright silver, but much to my surprise they sent me these! Looks like grey to me when I compare them to the OEM's. Lug nuts won't be here until this Tuesday, so pics will come then.

Good choice. The K1-TS was my first choice, but they were supposedly discontinued in the 18x7.5 size and nobody online seemed to have them in stock. Can't wait to see pics of these on the car.
