Oil change tip

Not trying to threadjack here, just a quick question. My mom has a Caliber SRT-4, what should I properly do then after changing the oil? I know you have to reset the trip computer and all, but if firing right up is so bad, help me out. Ive only done 1 change on it, the 2nd one is coming up in about a week or so.

Your first most critical step.....don't over think this, it's an oil change. If you're still concerned about doing something unintentionally bad to your mom's car, have her take it to the dealer for the job.

Fortunately for me, some of the most painful lessons I've learned about cars have been on somebody elses car. For instance, you never want to lift a Toyota Crown with an air suspension while the battery is still connected.

Thats the thing, Ive never heard of a special way to start a vehicle after an oil change. And I've done them on everything from Volkswagen Beetles to BMW's. It's an oil change, drain old oil, remove old filter, put some new oil around filter gasket, some in filter, install filter, add new oil to level. Her's didnt sound horrible or anything when I changed it. And the owners manual doesnt say anything special. I checked today. I was just curious as to what destrux meant by his comment.

um...ill pass. Maybe for a fresh rebuild or crate motor...but then again those come lubricated...I don't see the need.

By the way. I blow a fan through my air filter every time I change that too (yupnope)
