Ion fmic

the crash bar is a 5mph crash bar, going 40+ your going to do ALOT of damage no matter what is there, adn the turbolife is thicker then the Crash bar.

I crashed into a tree, belive me a crashbar doesn't do anything doing 60+ LOL!

it does plenty. it transfers the crash energy to the frame rails so that the crumple zones can absorb it properly, instead of that tree slamming into your engine.. and you experiencing a LOT more acceleration than if the car crashed the way it was meant to... 5mph bumpers are designed to take a 5mph crash with no more than cosmetic damage.. doesn't mean they don't function over that.

I trust the strength of the Turbolife more then the crash bar, Turbolife is more dense and bigger... I should of compared the two before I installed/tossed parts.

The "ion" kit is available it was actually made by kinetic motorsports and is still on their website for sale. I have one and rest assured it's on of the best and worth every penny!

i have two questions, one where do i buy the turbolife FMIC??
two which is the website of kinetic motorsports??

as a structural engineer, i trust the crash bar installed in the car to adequately brace a crash.
so does Mazda (litigation threat)
the federal government / DOT / NHTSA (crash testing)
insurance companies... the list goes on.
i do not trust something with no engineering background (turbolife you can correct me if i'm wrong).
a bigger, denser, heavier, whatever - piece of steel doesnt make it safer. engineering takes a lot more than that - it's about geometry, material properties, etc. to demonstrate the concept: take a 1x4. can you bend it? probably. now stand it on end. can you bend it that way? probably not. increasing it to a 2x4 doesn't change that.
you can trust whatever you want, but if you get in an accident its like you're betting on red when those of us with the crash bar are the house. i won't take that bet, especially not as a 18-25 year old male who would get dropped from insurance in a heartbeat if they ever found out.

phew. enough ranting.
that being said, turbolife does have the best performance.

turbolife you would have to get used (or from a private seller anyway), as the Group Buy is over...

Lies. He can still get in on the GB for TurboLife. He had extras made.

Stand by and I will get you a link for the BG.

Altered you can keep the bar. And it all depends on what you want out of your car.
