Dumb question

Ok, this may seem dumb but I gotta know...I see regular 3 owners buying our stock MS3 exhuasts, so I got to wondering if the opposite would work? Obviously not a stock 3 exhaust, but their aftermarket has more options than ours...would it work?

Anything can be made to fit. I'm not sure if it's a direct bolt-on...but what are you looking for? Because replacing anything behind the second cat isn't going to do anything for performance, and obviously a normal 3 is not going to have a regular downpipe...so the only beneficial piece of tubing would be the test-pipe area, and I doubt that would be a direct replacement. because it's made to connect to a downpipe, not a header.

I already have a CP-E catted DP and did the res delete on the stock catback. I'm just interested in some of the other options out there for sound at this point and the NA 3's have a bigger aftermarket for exhuast...plus they tend to be less expensive.

I will most likely stick to my current setup, but I was just wondering if they can mate up our exhausts to their cars, shouldn't the reverse be possible?

I'm just worried that anything you put on will be more restrictive than the stock exhaust, causing you to lose power. Not sure though...sorry I can't help out more :( I would suggest going to their forum and asking if the MS3 exhaust is a direct bolt-in replacement for their exhaust...that should give you your answer. If it's a direct fit to go from MS3 to Mazda3 then the inverse should also be true.

+1. The stock MS3 exhaust is so free flowing, I agree that any aftermarket product designed for the much less powerful regular 3 engine is likely to not flow as well and you will be taking a step backwards, especially now that you have eliminated the biggest restriction in our system, that POS stock DP. Stick with parts/systems designed to flow 250-300 whp, because that's the range you now need, OP.
