What have you done to your P5 today?

Anyone have a pic of an MSP shifter installed? I pocketed one of these from a local junkyard and want to get an idea of what it's gonna look like.

Check out the Shift Knob Thread started by Lord Zath (IIRC). If you can't find one I can snap pic of mine when I get home from work tonight. I like mine a lot tho. Its weighted pretty well and sits at a very good height with a short shift.

For the first time in 5 days, I drove it!

I've been working VERY slowly and methodically to remove a snapped bolt from the frame by CAREFULLY drilling it out and then re-tapping the hole. Getting a good, powerful drill down in the passenger side is a hell of a chore with all the A/C lines there. Then, the tap wrench was no walk in the park to turn with such limited space. All-in-all a valuable learning experience.

Well, I had been working to fix that, trace down a vacuum leak (needed a new TB gasket), and remedy a coolant leak (cracked hose going to TB). After taking Monday night off, I got it all back together last night, unfortunately I did not have the patience or expertise to get the SLS passenger side mount installed. Probably a good thing, as I am ordering the revised steel bracket now after seeing the posts about the failed aluminum ones. I did get the front SLS bracket installed on Saturday with absolutely no problem, and damn, the car already feels more solid. My stock front mount was in pretty bad shape, so I can only imagine what the rear one looks like.

Spent many hours last night with Andrew (Mazdaspeed626) installing my Magnaflow Catback from Khaosman, new Corksport exhaust hangers (the rears are done, still need to do the fronts) and an RR Racing Pulley (necessitating a run to Autozone at 5 till midnight to get the right size belt, because I bought the wrong one!).

It's like a brand new car...the power down low is spectacular, and the Magnaflow is pure aural pleasure. I feel I am nearing completion with this car...springs when I replace the shocks, 1.8 coil packs, a rear sway bar and some cosmetic stuff, and I think I will be good.

Oh an maybe a midpipe eventually...all right, maybe I'm not as close to done as I thought. (nana)
