Can you run spacers on stock Racingharts?

First off let me say that I am about the biggest noob in the world when it comes to wheels, tires, and offsets. So with that being said I hate how from the back of the msp the wheels and tires are so far inside the fender wells. Now i know that im not going to get it perfect with the stock wheels, but the thing is that i love the stock RacingHarts but i just wish they were a bit wider!!! So lets hear from you wheel experts!

With longer stubs you could run up to a 10mm spacer. The stock wheels are +55 and I run a +45 on mine with no rubbing, but I have stock suspension.

yes you can.. if you want flush, you will need bigger spacers then 10mm.. more like 20mm which will obviously need longer studs aswell.. im going to be running an 8-10mm spacer on my BBS wheels to push them out further as well

So what do you all think about running 20mm spacers with longer studs? Will i run into any problems? moving the wheels out that far, is there any danger?

there is no real danger... people will say it is more stress on everything, which technically it is.. but you wont notice a difference. the v-dub guys all run spacers and most are bigger then 20mm.

try it dude.. the stock racing harts sitting flush would be ******* sick!!! only reason i got rid of them was because of weight and lack of width!

yeah thats two or a pair, would you guys do the front and back both 20mm? has anyone ever done this? do we even know that 20mm is what i need? or should i do some calculations and see what i really need?

20mm might be excessive. With essentially a +35mm offset on your stock RH wheels, they could rub. Personally I want to push the fronts out a little further than the rears.+42 in most cases is safe, might have to roll fenders when going more aggressive. Look in the MSP wheel pics section for some ideas of offset on our cars. Great angles and varieties in there.

I plan to do this same thing, but probably 10mm rear 15 front.

Ok, thanks. So if i find a offset that i like on a rim in the wheel section how do i know how far to space out the stock wheels? take the stock 35mm and - it from what ever i want? so like lets say i wanted a 45 offset would i take 35-45 and see that i need a 10mm spacer? lol guys i know im a noob!

^^^ it all depends on the wheel design too.. how thick the actual wheel is where the lugs go. i have 17x8 Kosei T1s that i can run a 12mm spacer on perfectly and then on my BBS i think i can MAYBE run a 5mm without changing them. its all dependant on the wheels themselves.

Cyclops - it isnt quite as easy as just adding the different offsets to make your spacer width. offsets are all dependant on wheel width as they are the distance +/- from center of the wheel. there is a way to work it all out technically i just gotta remember where it is.

i was sort of exaggerating with a 20mm as i was just getting my point of needing a BIG spacer to sit flush. but when thinking more about it, im not too far off.
im sitting completely flush (maybe poking just a touch) with a +38 offset but on a 8" wide wheel.

i have a 18x7.5s with a +42 offset and they are probably pretty close to what you would want. they are sitting JUST inside the fenders and with a properly sized 215 tire dont rub at all.

an easy way to figure it out is to take a measuring tape and measure from the lip (or wherever you want to sit flush) and measure out to the fender or where you picture the wheels sitting. 25mm is an 1nch. and what i remember of my stock stance, was that it needed almost an inch to be agressive. so i think im pretty close with my guess without actually doing the math/testing

now you have to figure out how long of studs you need. whatever spacer you decide on, add that mm to your stock stud length.

those Ebay ones look pretty ******* good for their price. especially that they fit too.

usually spacers and studs will be up near 400-500 bucks if you go with the brand names.. not a cheap thing for sure
