Due to a rod failure I will take $5300 and not a penny less - So don't ask! The car will need an engine, but this could be a great opportunity for someone to build a fast msp cheaply.

The car will only be for sale until 1/30. If it hasn't sold by then I'm keeping it.

Only 65K miles

I'm thinking it might be time to part ways with my MSP. It is my third protege (two different mp3s before) and I'm ready to get something different for a while. I have really enjoyed the car it handles great, makes fun power, and is awesome to drive. Heres the mod list:

twiggy cams
welded diff - about 1000 miles since install
Apexi R1 catless midpipe
03 wheels
Street Unit front and rear motor mounts
dual gauge pod under pioneer head unit with Autometer boost gauge
aluminum bpv (currently venting to atmosphere - no bogging or problems)
New clutch less than 1000 miles ago (done with diff install)
New hawk hps front pads about 1000 miles on them as well
New coils and plugs in May
Pedders control arm bushings - installed 10/25/09

Body is good NO RUST, but it does have a ding on the passenger front fender and a softball sized ripple in the passenger quarter right in-front of the taillight (see pic). The interior is in decent shape as well - no rips, no tears, but there is a one inch spot on the driver's seat that the insert got a little dry and cracked, and there are a couple small cig burns. (I don't smoke and the car has no smokey smell at all - if it did I wouldn't have bought it in the first place) I can take a pics if you like, all are minor and not through the fabric - driver's seat only. AC blows cold, everything works, its not the nicest car I've ever owned, but its still a great car.

Known issues:
Needs a block!
Rear lip and front bumper are both a little saggy
Windshield is cracked
Manifold is cracked

Clear title in hand. Give me a call Tom @ 513-708-0995

I like the cams, they give the engine and power delivery some character. Starting at about 3500 rpm the engine really rushes to redline.

If I get asking price, I'll throw in a 3" downpipe once they are finally made up.

oh i bet i hear nothing but good things about them wish i coul get my hands on some, good luck with the sale though

My cars are always for sale, I've just made it more official. I think I want something more stealthy and low profile. I think the color looks great, but I'm just ready for a different style of car. I generally don't keep a car more than a year and I've had three almost consecutive proteges which is a testament to how much I really do like them. I just feel like getting something else. Maybe a vr6 jetta III or an A4 - I haven't had a VW or Audi in about 5 years so it would be something different.

Not at the moment, but I can take some tomorrow. I was actually thinking about bumping this thread this afternoon. I'm installing pedders control arm bushings right now so it should really tighten up the front end. I'm not a fan of the stock bushings and mine were starting to feel pretty soft. I think having it on stands for a couple weeks this summer while I waited for my diff to show up took a lot of their life away.
