CulRidr's MP3 N/A build (~150whp goal)

ECU goes in next week for flashing...but I can tell you the car pulls HARD after this past weekend's autoX where I beat a lot of cars in my class which should have spanked me...although I think my tires helped out.
BTW chico, ever find out whether my theory would work or not (sent to you via PM sometime last month)?

Is that what it is? Sweet...if Mazda can put it that high, then my balanced rotating assembly can definitely go that high :)

Fuel issues, combined with a lack of flashed ECU (waiting VERY patiently...), making for me standing idle. I closed the cams by 3 camshaft degrees and that made a pretty good difference with the idle, although I may close it more.

On a different note, installed the ladder brace last weekend; super easy install :)

fuel issues? related to the lack of tune or something else entirely?

How's it running? Still a little rough and no it's not tuned; the reflash has yet to work; my tuner is talking to a sister company to help him figure out why it won't work since he's had it work on similar ECUs before...

Was supposed to close the cam gears another 3 degrees/cam today but the screws on the cam gears were too soft and they would have stripped if we tried harder to take them off (they were blue-loctited due to them coming loose).

Fuel issues are sorta fixed (I think); fuel pump/filter were replaced so we're good there.

Car pulls very strong and can only get stronger once I can get the spark timing right, the overlap closed the fuel trims leaned out.

Latest mod is camber bolts and a performance alignment with a ton of camber, some caster and some toe (out). Should make for a fun autoX run on Sunday :)

I'd advise against driving it hard without a tune on it dude.... unless the AFRs are nice and safe.... you've done some extensive work to the motor - i'd imagine the stock tune would be having a very hard time of it :(

Car's been running fine on the stock tune (albeit with some random misfires). AFRs are "too safe" being rather rich...
I've got 3 autoX events on it and apart from one where I couldn't push it because I was having those fuel issues, she's good to go. I was going to confirm the engine's health with a compression test but a time setback is pushing that back until next week.

A compression test takes me15 minutes tops...

Not sure why anyone would risk a freshly boken in motor in autox untuned...running too rich is not all good either. Just lookin out :)
