Blueprotegelx Turbo Build

How long is the adjusting bolt on the HKS suppose to be? Trying to see if I can fix this before spending "X" amount of money on a new one.
 
Can I haz moar details on the water/coolant setup you did? This is the only area where I don't have a game plan.
 
im going to try and replace the bolt. just trying to get an idea on length of it.

Installed my AFC V1 tonight. unfortunately when i went to connect i received an error about cable connection b/c i don't have software for it. i didn't have wifi connection so i was unable to download a driver. i'll try to tomo...I may be meeting up with Sean saturday to see if we can get his computer to connect to my afc. I can't get map to load off my comp either for some reason. I didn't have any problems a couple weeks ago when i downloaded the maps. Good news is that after installing afc the car started and no issues so that's a good sign.
 
AWR RSB and endlinks installed...it's beautiful! Went cruising on backroads for a few minutes and handled much better.

Having same issue. I am positive the wiring is correct b/c I checked the wiring 3-4 times during install. I connected them all, after connecting I went back through the instructions to check connections over and over. I then wrapped them in electrical tape for now. I am waiting for everything to work successfully then I will solder them.

I connected cable to laptop and afc, computer found driver and installed successfully. I did not do goto device manager and check com ports b/c the only one that would actually have the 10 second timer appear was com 3 and then the error came up. I turned the car on but did not start engine. The cable I have came with the AFC as the previous owner used on his.

Below Ken mentioned that if the unit is installed the car will not start if it's a defect correct?

Any suggestions before i go back out and try? I may make a visit to my buddy Sean's to see if his cable will work.
 
i had an issue after i installed theEZVs ssafc.. his laptop only had a usb device. Mine had the other kind that i have to plug in, then screw into.. after fiddling with his for a while, (it was throwing error codes to the laptop saying it couldn't find drivers, etc...) I decided to hook it to my laptop, sans the USB device.. it connected with mine, worked well..

keep in mind, for it to "read", you have to have the ignition on, but engine off.
 
I went into device manager and found that the com port was on 8. I then proceeded to change my comport setting on AFC to com8 and clicked connect to ecu, it then counts down from 10 rather slowly compared to before when i had it connected to Com 3 (Wrong comport). So I figured that was a good sign and it was connecting. I then received an error: "Unknown Comport error #8018"

Thinking about trying a new cable and going from there. Any advice?

I did some searches on Google and no luck. I thought may be this meant this was the wrong Com port as well, but when it is the wrong one it usually says Error communicating with ECU.

Thanks for ur help Sean I appreciate it a lot! I pulled in and within 5 min we downloaded jamesk map, and then connected and loaded map to afc. So it was def my cable causing probs. Car runs much better, I'll get a vid soon. Sean also let me borrow his hks til his gt28rs comes in to see if it's a new bov I need or what!

Edit: as soon as bov fixed I'm going to work on learning how-to tuck/hide wired and hosing

Lol. My parents driveway slopes hardcore and I stood at low endand zoomed in.

Suspension and appearance are next on list! Gotta figure out what to do suspension wise. I love my eibach springs. So far suspension I have 19mm awr rsb, front strut bar, and the Eibach pro-kit springs. What's next that would give the car better handling/additional lowering?
 
Tokico blues, gt spec bracing & you'll be set on suspension.

Kinda funny how me n u are backwards from each other, I started on looks touched suspension then moving to boost, you went boost suspension now looks. haha.
 
I think for now i'm going to look into some gtspec parts as well as some low pro tires. i actually need rims if anything since mine are all scuffed up but i like the color of the stockers with mica blue. I'm going to wait a little bit on the Tokico's, b/c by then I may just convert over to coilover setup which is the way to go! I just don't have that kinda money to through out for the BC's or Ksports at the moment.

I'm essentially illiterate when it comes to suspension so I'm going to start doing some searches. I'm also working on wire tucking my engine bay. Huge cluster right now!

Dubb, let me know what kind of pics you want of the coolant setup. i'm on my laptop all day today so i can send u everything. pm me and lmk.
 
Suspension is a sinch, bottom line, BC is teh best :D

I think I'ma go with the coolant bypass, how come you didn't go that route?
