Well, a little more than a year after buying my 06 Mazdaspeed6, I decided to sell it. I lost a lot in the trade, but I'm still happy with the final decision. I decided to go for a brand new and (hopefully) trouble free Mazda5 GT. The family's growing fast (2nd kid coming in a couple of months), but the decision maker was the ongoing troubles I had with my Speed6 and the constant arguing with the mazda dealerships.
As I've posted before, I was getting V8 like milleage, doing barely 350km/full tank, even when driving it like an 85 year old hat wearing grandpa.
After buying brand new discs and pads not even 3 months ago, they were still making a lot of noise and becoming blue again. They were installed this time by a different garage, but the same problem came back. Since day one, I had the feeling that the brakes had constant friction.
I also had the famous white smoke coming out of my exhausts, which was not an issue as per Mazda. Weird, cause after only 4000km, I had no more oil left.
Oh, also a broken bearing, a constant whistling noise in the cabin that I never figured out, an hesitant acceleration, a replaced rusty hood which came back with paint so bad my 4yo daughter could have done better, and the list goes on and on...
I'm very dissapointed, and I'll still miss the power it had (when it had it). I'll also miss my short shifter stage 2 and the all wheel drive. Hopefully, I'm not gonna have to argue as much about the Mazda5 or the Mazda3 we still have.
Thanks to everyone who helped me in my learning process throughout all my newbie questions asked. I appreciate the patience showed by most of you guys. I won't be far, I'll be roaming in the Mazda3 and 5 section of Mazdas247.
I wish you guys the best and a trouble free Mazdaspeed6 experience!
Thanks a lot and talk to you soon!
